Yeah, I noticed that. I think thats pretty..well, dumb. but at least the stuff I search up seems true. but I suppose you can never be too sure.

university lecturers go on about how rubbish it is, but if you check out the footnotes you realise that people normally copy and past from proper academic sources, so most of it is accurate. still best not to use it for research for essays, but it's fine if you just want to randomly look something up.

Wiki is a great source and most of it should be reliable, but just don't forget to be critical with anything whether books or online stuff! Who was it... a lead singer from.. ehh don't remember which band, but he's been proclaimed dead sereval times on Wikipedia now by someone who just randomly editted it! :P

Lol, that's funny, Eä. :) I love Wikipedia, but I never knew that someone has been declared dead several times.

Well, I sure do hope the stuff I've read about the Greek Gods and Goddesses weren't false. :teehee: But now since that point about editing stuff on Wiki has been mentioned, I've now used other sources to find stuff. :p

Well, those who tested the information on Wiki found surprisingly few errors, so it can be used to check on things you didn't have knowledge about, but as eowyn says, you shouldn't base a paper entirely on it. Actually, it's always good to use different sources and be critical towards them!

Yeah--I use Wikipedia a lot, because I know that most of the information is correct. And because it normally is only one of multiple sources that I check.

Usually, the more scientific info is correct, but anything relating to a movie coming out soon is probably going to be balderdash.

I like Wikipedia! Usually, if I use it for school research, I make sure to use several different sources, and double check things I read on there. I use a lot for RP and writing research, too!
