Mmkay, so as the title said, the question I have does not really have anything to do with a site, but I couldn't really think of any other place to put it so bear with me.

I have just finished creating a Powerpoint movie which plays with rehearsed timings and an mp3 file throughout its entirety. I have recently learned from both experience and searching the web that music file cannot be played through the entire ppt movie with rehearsed timings when it is in Quicktime.

I have also learned that Quicktime will play it correctly if I export the entire file to iMovie. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, I'd really appreciate some guidance.

Also, does anyone know if both Quicktime and iMovie support mp3 files?

And yes, if you haven't figured it out by now, I own a Mac. :P

Well... looks like I've solved my own problem. Good thing too since it would've taken someone years to respond I'm sure. :teehee:

Sorry I couldn't respond before you'd solved it. How did you? I'm curious.

I wouldn't have been able to answer about the quicktime and powerpoint, but yes the mp3 files are compatible with imovie.

Sorry for getting back to you so late. :) I hardly ever check this part of the forum. In the end I exported all the powerpoint movie slides as jpg files so that I could make a pictures slideshow sort of thing on iMovie. The problem I'd had before was getting the music to play with the timings I had set and in the end I took the music off the powerpoint and added it later in iMovie. I did the same thing with the timings as well. It worked rather well except for the fact that the music and timings were not as close as I had wanted after compressing the movie.

Ah well, glad you solved it. I've heard of that happeninng fairly frequently with compressing. Bummer.

It turned out better than I expected though, so overall I was happy with it. :)
