Post subject:  Need CCS layout help

[strangles someone]

So I stupidly decided to *try* and make a layout today, and it's just not working. I was using one of the basic templates for Lisa Explains All and trying to add different things like background image etc and it just wasn't happening. I don't know if it's me being thick or something, but when I look at these HTML sites things just don't work.

Does anyone know of any site out there (other than HTML goodies because that confuses me even more) which just tells me what I need to know to make a layout?

I used Lissa Explains, so I guess I can't help much there. But going onto other sites and going to "View>Page Source" was really helpful. If you understood any of what the coding stood for, it can help you see what people did to get certain things.

createblog.com may help also, it has many layouts there and you could get a clue by looking at the layout coding ;)

Hi JF...I sorta figured out CSS by using info from different sites and putting it all together. I can't remember the sites though...was some time ago...

I use
Code:
background-image: url('urlofbackgroundimage.jpg');

for my background image.

you're free to check out my style sheet if it helps you in any way:

you've prob figured it out by now though...since my reply is so late

^ Ha, that's pretty much what I've been doing as well. Thanks for your help though I have it sorted now. :-)

Or, you can do it this way:

background: ###### url('URL OF IMAGE');

That way you get two properties in one, color and image.
