Oh, I love the BBC, I just am dubious that the new S&S could be better than the Emma Thompson version. Bleak House, for instance, is amazing. Ditto Our Mutual Friend and North and South.

Or maybe the general population here can only afford local / basic cable and even then we don't have a wide variety of channels let alone networks overseas.

Ah, the TV network sounds a little bit different to over here. It's a shame that not everyone can get the BBC.

PBS will quite often show the BBC adaptations on Masterpiece Theater. Several months to a year late, but it's better than never!

In other words, I'm entering.  I saw this movie for the first time at my grandparent's house when I was 13, and stayed up past midnight to finish it. I've been in love with it ever since.

I don't even watch PBS that often! They tend to only catch it on they put on shows for the littlun's.
