Well to be perfectly honest guys, I have no doubt that the film will reign supreme (I mean it has Alan Rickman in it for Pete's sake!) but I'm not horror struck that the BBC are re-adapting the book. It's the BBC and they have made some very, very fine period TV shows of classic books. The one I am watching at the moment (Cranford) is the best thing I have seen on TV for a long time.

*wonders how she can keep this post on topic*

Erm... yes, extensions are always welcome at this time of year especially! :D

Not having seen BBC productions, I don't know about their reputation.

Thank you for entering, Firiel!

Oh, I love the BBC, I just am dubious that the new S&S could be better than the Emma Thompson version. Bleak House, for instance, is amazing. Ditto Our Mutual Friend and North and South.

You're welcome, Kit!

I don't think adaptations of books are meant to be better than previous adaptations really. Their aim to to tell the story of the book as best they can each time. This one (which is on at Christmas in the UK) may be more accurate to the book than the film, it may be worse. Either way, I'm looking forward to it. :-)

*le gasp* No BBC for teh Kit!! Wow. America must hate us Brits if they don't even allow its population to even have the chance to watch such British splendour as the BBC. *waves Union Jack*

Or maybe the general population here can only afford local / basic cable and even then we don't have a wide variety of channels let alone networks overseas.

Ah, the TV network sounds a little bit different to over here. It's a shame that not everyone can get the BBC.

PBS will quite often show the BBC adaptations on Masterpiece Theater. Several months to a year late, but it's better than never!

*squeals* Yes! Sense and Sensibility! Brandon! *flails in happiness*

In other words, I'm entering. :-P I saw this movie for the first time at my grandparent's house when I was 13, and stayed up past midnight to finish it. I've been in love with it ever since.

I don't even watch PBS that often! They tend to only catch it on they put on shows for the littlun's.

Freya: Everyone can enter! :)

Thanks, Kit! :) I should have it before the end of the week, and can probably make my banner over the weekend, but if not, I'll be sure to let you know. :bounce: (random: I love how his < eyeballs almost-but-not-quite slide off the top of his head when he jumps :P)
