I think maybe asking people to join your forum before they can enter, will probably put people off. Maybe allowing anyone to enter would get a larger variety of contestants for your contest.

I am hosting a Mordor Banner contest. this contest is a little different. I am hosting it here and at my own forum site so I can get a larger variety of contestents!
