Here are the entries:

Freya Baggins

The road is long and the mountains tall,
A long, long way from hearth and hall.
I took a trail beside my friends,
Wherever to our journey’s end.

Many months have now flown past .
On my way to war at last,
My lady and I upon our horse,
Among the soldiers, rough and coarse.

The morning dawns, the sky is red,
Corsairs sail the riverbed.
Through the charge I hear a cry,
Nazgul up where birds should fly.

The battle goes by like a blur,
Wargs that looked like mangy curs,
Oliphaunts with heads up high,
Wagging towers that touch the sky.

A Nazgul lands upon my king,
His niece defends him, her sword doth ring.
The Nazgul lord starts to strike,
I smite him, with all my might

My sight goes white, and then to black,
As I fall upon my back.
I hear my lady’s voice ring loud,
“I am no man”, I feel proud.

And then the Darkness closes in,
I feel no more the land of men,
Dark dreams of despair and fear are nigh,
Find me Pippin, before I die.

The Nightingale

The heat blows against my face,
This is it, the fires of Mt. Doom.
I see Mr. Frodo up ahead,
The ring held in front of him.

Ring of power,
You’re the reason we’re here,
Forged in the cracks of Doom,
Now to be destroyed.

“Mr. Frodo, throw it in,”
I hear my voice echo as I shout.
He turns to me, his face full of rage,
“It’s mine, the ring is mine!”

Ring of power,
You’re the reason we’re here,
Forged in the cracks of Doom,
Now to be destroyed.

I feel a rock against my head,
And then everything is black.
Blackness swirling around me,
Yet in the darkness I see,
I see Mr. Frodo slip the ring on,
I see Gollum fighting the invisible.

Ring of power,
You’re the reason we’re here,
Forged in the cracks of Doom,
Now to be destroyed.

A scream pierces the darkness.
Gollum tumbles into Mt. Doom,
Laughing as he holds the ring.
Mr. Frodo turns from the rim
And comes to me.

Forged in the cracks of Doom,
Now you’ve been destroyed.

It’s over, we’ve won, the day is ours.
The world around us explodes,
And though faint, we run.
An eagle swoops down, we’re lifted up.
I know we’re safe, Mr. Frodo and I.

Now Middle Earth is saved.


Turwaithiel Swann

This is a song, a song, a song,
This is the tale I tell,
About a Hobbit and the One Ring,
This is the song I sing!

It started in the Shire,
On that fateful day,
That Gandalf came to Bag End,
And had a lot to say.

Bilbo took his leave, and left the ring,
In young Frodo’s care,
And now Frodo Baggins must flee,
Into the evil’s lair.

He brings along one trusted friend,
Then brings along two more,
As they make their way along to Bree,
Stepping out onto the haunted floor.

Black slaves then come after them,
But they escape along the Ferry,
It was a close call, that’s for sure,
They gave there thanks to Merry.

To Bree they finally made it,
They make it to the inn,
While they meet the stranger Strider,
And the journey will now begin.

To Rivendell they now seek,
Through the marshes they must cross,
At Weathertop they fight once more,
And Frodo is almost lost.

It was because of the Elves his life was saved,
And because of the Elven Lord,
The river also aided them,
In the Flight of the Ford.

Now they are in Rivendell,
Where the wizard finally returns,
Frodo questions his absence,
And find out what he learned.

A council then was held,
To help them find a way,
To destroy the One Ring forever,
And keep all evil at bay.

A Fellowship of 9 was then formed,
To go to Mount Doom,
There would they destroy the Ring,
Or enter their tomb.

Then the Fellowship departed,
From the Elven Leaf,
To try and go help the world,
And restore it back to peace.

Now I must end my song,
Yet the tale is not done,
Maybe you will here one day,
Where Frodo and his companions have gone.


Drew's Destiny

@all participants: I'm really sorry that you have to wait for your awards for so long. I didn't forget about it or so, but Eliwen is actually the person who should create the awards. Unfortunately she has been affected by the last UK flooding and didn't have any internet access for quite a while. I hope you can understand her situation.
I haven't seen her around for quite a while now, but she promised to make the awards. Please be patient. Thank you!

No, you don't have to worry. I didn't regard your post as impatient. I just wanted to let everyone know that it might take a few more days until the awards might be done.
