<center>Everything in this post is basically Johnny's Fan. I just thought to keep on with the theme, I just changed a few things for the Writing Contest.

Greetings and welcome to the Official AU Hallowfest Contest in aid of that glorious day of spooky festivity....

That was a lie. It's actually just a writing contest. There isn't a pumpkin necessarily involved but you get extra brownie points if include a pumpkin somehow. :)

Besides, doesn't the banner with the pumpkins just make you all warm and fuzzy inside?


Official AU Hallowfest Contest V: Writing Contest
The aim of the game: to write a short passage from a 'larger novel' that revolves around a spooky Halloween scene.</center>

Rules

- If you don't know what the Hallowfest is you can't enter.... Ok, so maybe you can... but check out this <a href="http://arwen-undomiel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19332&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0" target="_blank">thread</a> anyway.

- Unlimited amount of contestants.

- If you enter one of the Official Hallowfest contests, you are welcome to enter any of the others.

- Entires must be PM'd to me (Kitoky) from October 17th until October 24th only. Please make sure you add which contest you are entering (e.g 01, 02, 03)

- Here, you want to write a passage straight out of a scary novel. Like Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", she actually started writing in the middle of chapter 5...

Can you do the same? Your word limit is 500 words (550 maximum). And you have to try to include words like: <b>moonlight, shadows, graveyard, chill, creak, bloodcurdling, howl, slithered, and goosebumps.</b> You don't have to include all of these words, but the more words you use, the more points your entry gets.

- All types of topics are welcome from original story, fanfiction---just so as long as it meets the guidelines for the prompt. Remember, you don't need to establish basic information. It should be thought to have been taken straight out of the middle of a novel!

- And most importantly.... enjoy yourselves! :D

Erg. I hate to say this, but even with the extension, it's not looking like I'll get the chance to write before Friday.

OMG! 500 words is .. is like War and Peace! To a non-writer like me, I can't believe I've only written 200 and my plot has fizzled out!

[scratches head.... before anyone asks, I have the JF hat on, so I can do that.... scratch my head I mean... not wear a hat... even The Horseman could wear a hat... although technically it wouldn't sit on his head... so I suppose theoretically it's not... a hat?]

Thanks Kit. I'll have to see how I feel and whether I can finish it. I've been throwing up today and I don't feel too good. :-(

JF, War and Peace? :lol:

?!?

My problem is always the opposite... I wrote something pretty decent, but it was 900 words... and I had to hack it up. Oh well. Sending it in anyway. Hope it works Kit!

EDIT: Oh my word, JF I just saw that... :hug: I'm so sorry. And during Hallowfest too! :( I hope you recover quickly!
