					| Pretend for a moment that Enya didn't sing May it Be at the end of FotR, that Phillippa and Fran didn't write Gollum's Song for the end of TTT, and there was no "Into the West" sung by Annie Lennox at the end of RotK.
Instead, imagine that Phillippa and Fran decided to make lyrics out of Tolkien's poetry. Rather than ending FotR with "May it Be" there's a new song, its lyrics put together from different pieces of poetry Tolkien included in FotR.
 YOU are writing those lyrics.
Look through FotR, choose lines or sections from different poems, add in words, take out others
Put these together to make a lovely ending song for the movie Fellowship of the Ring.
It needs to summarize the movie, remember, and create the mood you want viewers to leave with!
You can compose a tune if you like, but entries will be judged by lyrics, not melodies
Post your new closing song here by the end of July 13th. Contest will be closed and judged the 14th by Nienor and Ivreniel

					| Yay! There's finally a contest I can participate in! I'll join if I may. I've got a quick question- Does the song have to be a certain length? [i.e. a certain amount of lines.]

					| Well the rules do state
Quote: Look through FotR, choose lines or sections from different poems I take that the lines must be taken [somewhat] from the poems and songs of FotR.
EDIT: Do we have to a chorus or refrain in our song lyrics?

					| Sure, count me in...it'll give me something to do EDIT: Shut up, Tom Bombadil! This guy has enough songs in his chapter to rival all the others put together! And they all sound something like, "Ring a dong dillo dong merry dol and derry dol doo de doo and doo de doo, by the root and willow" and such. Grrr._________________

					| Quote: Do we have to a chorus or refrain in our song lyrics? Not necessarily. If you want. Quote: But i have a question, 1st. do we have 2 use poems from Tolkien, or can we just completely make up our own lyrics?? Use songs from Tolkien but it doesn't have to be a whole lot. Can just be bits and pieces with your own work being the main body. Quote: Does the song have to be a certain length? [i.e. a certain amount of lines.] We never discussed that. Let's use the songs at the end of the movies as a guide. So... In dreams: Quote: When the cold of winter comesStarless night will cover day
In the veiling of the sun
We will walk in bitter rain

 But in dreams
 I can hear your name
 And in dreams
 We will meet again

In the veiling of the sun
We will walk in bitter rain

 But in dreams
 I can hear your name
 And in dreams
 We will meet again

When the seas and mountains fall
And we come, to end of days
In the dark I hear a call
 Calling me there,
 I will go there
 And back again
May it Be: Quote: May it be an evening star Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
 Your heart will be true
 You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

 Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
 Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadows call
 Will fly away
May it be you journey on
 To light the day
 When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

 Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
 Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now now

In FotR, these are put together._________________ Starting October 13th: globe trotting from my kitchen. Follow along on Cook In Fifty-Two

Use songs from Tolkien but it doesn't have to be a whole lot. I tried using his work, but nothing seemed to come out right, so I just made up one of my own songs. _________________ ^Sig set made by me. PM for requests.
