*stabs Ea* ![]() I never really thought about that, to tell the truth. I always just thought of them as 'the stairs Sam went up to save Frodo.' Maybe to lead to a treasure room or something, or maybe from there there was a ladder to the roof. |

To be honest I like the chisel idea but I've always thought they were a short cut into mordor for some reason. |

I would also like to know the answer too this, I would guess they were made by men during times of warfare as shortcuts when battling. I mean thats nought but a guess. This be a really good topic arg! hee hee. I would like to know! |

I don't know about that. Those steps sound to crude to have been made by them.--I thought Cirith Ungol WAS the steps? |
