What are your thoughts about Rohan and its people?
When , I first read TTT, I really liked the Rohan culture. They are strong, free spirited people, who love their country and animals. I also liked the fact that Eowyn, as woman of Rohan, was very independent and wanted to fight like the men did.

I love it, if I could live there, I'd pack my bags in a heartbeat
I love horses, words aren't good enough for them, there's just that sence of all knowing bond
And I love that Tolkien centered a civilization around them!

Have you ever gone horseback riding?
I love going, my aunt has 2 horses that she takes out trailriding, which is so much fun!
I love the idea that people do that everyday, in Rohan.

The Rohirrim are my second favourite peoples on Middle-earth, after the Elves. I like the way they live their lives- The nobility of the warrior's way, bravery in battle and complete willingness to sacrifice their lives for the good of all.
Very Celtic and very Viking... I have always appreciated these kind of cultures.

Whee, I love Rohan. I haven't been around horses too much, so I'm a bit apprehensive--but I love to see them anyway. They're just majestic. I like their culture. What I most love is how Rohan is depicted in the movie--a huge, open plain. I can picture the scene right now, where Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas look over the land, and the Rohan theme plays, and Aragorn says, "Rohan, home of the horse lords."

A field like that is one of my dream worlds.

I love Rohan, it's land, people and cultures. They are my favorite "people" tied with the Elves. I myself have grown up around horses, which is probably one of the reasons I like them so. I love how Rohan seemed miles and miles of land, with a small village here or there. My favorite Rohan character is Eowyn because even though women were looked down on in some areas then, she still came through to be just as powerful as a man. Horseback riding is absolutely wonderous. If you go to ride for the fist time you might want to tell the people that your a beginner. If you ever get the chance ride bareback or the Elvish way, it's my favorite way even beats English saddle.

I want to learn how to fight with a sword!
And then I want to learn how to fight with a sword on a horse.
That looked so cool when done by the rohirrim people.

Fighting with a sword? I'd like to do that too! Not that I've thought of myself as the violent type . . . but I guess if you want to learn how to fight with a sword, the closest modern sport would be fencing - looks dangerous.
Just a thought.

Rohan is an amazing place, so open and free. I'm going to be given the chance to go to New Zeland, and even though Edoras is no longer there, i think Rohan is....in spirit

Oh, yes, Rohan is one of my favorite Middle-earth countries! I loved reading about it and its people. I would really like to one day go see the hill that they built Edoras on. Too bad the actual town isn't there anymore- I'd live there.
