This is my English literature fanatic side popping out and if you decide I'm over-reacting I totally respect that decision. But anyway, I've noticed a trend in the Book Discussion section that bothers and annoys me, namely the tendency to talk about topics in the book section and cite the movie as your source, or even worse not cite a source at all. I think the movies are great but there's a whole section for discussing them. IMHO, if you want to discuss something the book section you should support your views using the books (imagine that). And it seems to me that if you're in the book section you should be ready (if possible) to support your claims with evidence from the books. Just something that's been bothering me and I felt like I needed to get it off my chest. Oh, and I'm not trying to point fingers at anyone. ![]() |

We always encourage involvement with discussions and I'm glad you pointed this out for us because I do notice that a lot. Unfortunately we as moderators can't prevent that as it does not really go against any rules. You are however, free to correct people's discussions when they use movie references instead of book references in a thread, it would encourage more book references, and less reliance on the films --- because the books can never be matched. ![]() |
