So, it seemed to me that there wasn't a lot of involvement in RotR this year. I was wondering why. Is it just because everyone is busy? Or were things not planned well? Or perhaps there just wasn't interest? The Hobbit ball, especially, seemed to be lacking. Are the balls too much, and should we limit some of the things since we have busy lives? Any comments would be appreciated.

If I'm honest, I think sometimes ROTR drags on a bit. It's the summer holidays. If the weather is nice you want to be outside enjoying it, or doing things with family/friends. Everyone gets hyped up alot for the first 2 weeks then it just flops, so I think if it was just a week or two long then it may be better.

I think Lothy is right :) I thought that when school was over I would have lots of time for AU. But the weather was so nice and I visisted many friends.. so I have not been very active outside the RPG-section.

Furthermore it's quite a problem for me that most members are active on the board when it's after midnight at my place. So sometimes I stay up till late.. but my sleepinging pattern would have been seriously screwed up if I would do that every day.

First of all, I really think it's a great initiaive. It's so awesome that a group of members plan and organise all the activities and I think it's a very important part of keeping A-U a lively and vibrant place. The idea that you can get involved whenever you have the time and feel like helping out and do something fun for the whole forum! :-)

THANK YOU!

When I've said that, I have to admit I haven't participated in RotR. I've been away from A-U quite a lot, particularly because I spent so much time working over the summer. I should think that a many people would be here during the break but it did feel quite empty- and still does. I don't know if it was because of the nice weather and people preferred to be outside....?

Ahh you're absolutely right Eä! We ought to throw these awesome, organising members a thank-you-party :-D

I think it's a pity I could not participate in ROTR. But I remember from the past Hallowfests that it costs me a great deal of time to keep up with such things, like balls. Also because of the already mentioned time difference.

Thanks for the feedback guys. :)

So would it be better if we did a smaller type of celebration early on in the summer? Because I like the idea of keeping the LotR spirit alive for a bit, so it'd be nice to keep something.

Hey Nurr!

Just wondering - Nienna of Rohan and I have officially closed the trivia contest. How do we go about rewarding the winner? Are we still doing special title changes for that?

Oh god yes. WAY overkill.

It was sort of interesting a few years ago when it was first introduced for a big holiday or occasion, but now you guys honestly have balls for just about everything. Too much.
