Eeeek! Tariel, you are a genius! Is this the work you were talking about a while back? I can definitely see why they commissioned you!

Fireflight! One of the best bands ever!
I really love the way you used negative space in the Sam 'Mystery of You' blend and the one just below it. And the Skillet banners are of course amazing! All three of those are among my favorite songs of all time.

haha You know me so well, Tariel. I adore the Fireflight blend (That cd cover is INSANE with the shot of the buildings), and when I saw the Willabeth/Sparrabeth blend....I started laughing. I have no idea why, but when I read the Relient K lyrics....I have no idea. Moving on now because I really have no explanation for the last two sentences. Those Skillet banners are so awesome! Did you make them for that Skillet site that commissioned you last time?

OK, so after a month and a half, here is another update... not much to show, but it's something. I've been doing more work with my own photography (I love the feeling when I look at a piece and know it's MINE... not stock pictures... but my work, from start to finish. That's why I want to learn to make textures too...).
Blends

Wallpapers (click thumbnails for full view)

[That last one was set as my desktop background for two and a half months actually, until yesterday when a friend made me one as a birthday gift... so it was actually made in February.]
Banners/Avatars

That's basically what I've been doing. Nothing too spectacular, but I've been doing a bit of experimenting. I wish I'd had more time for it, but life has been eating me. Oh, almost all of the Skillet photography is mine (in case you were wondering), and almost all of it that I used on the blends is mine as well.

Beautiful graphics, Alatariel! I love the fonts and textures you use. These two blends are my favourites... <3

I could of sworn that I've posted on this...O.o Must be losing my mind.
Anyways, I love what you've been doing! You're photography is stunning. I really love what you did with the text in the last two blends--I've always loved your text, but those two really stood out to me.
The wallpaper with the Red lyrics makes me want to wear the collab banner again. Would you mind if I used that as the background on my own computer?
Also, it's not very hard to make your own textures. I usually just play around with gradients, filters, and blending styles until something looks interesting.

Amazing stuff as always, AF!
That third banner, the green one with Frodo, just really stood out to me. Maybe it's because I'm just a sucker for Frodo graphics, maybe it's because I'm also a sucker for green, but it most likely has something to do with the screencaps you used. Very powerful.
I love the 'Alive' blend. (Those are lyrics from a Relient K song, right?) It just radiates warmth. And it made me smile very much. <3
And the one right after that, the INMIY blend. Love those lyrics, and I love how you made them the focus of the blend. The picture goes perfect with them, too, and the overall design is just very bold and to the point.
And then the one after that just rocks because that is a really cool cd cover and it is a cd that I want very much. XDD Not to mention the color scheme and composition again is beautiful, and I like the way you incorporate the cursive in the background.

You stun me again, Tariel! I adore that Boromir banner; maybe it's the blue, maybe it's the glow, maybe it's the text, maybe it's all of them combined. Same goes for the Frodo banner, and the Jack banner, and my A/E banner (LOVE), and...uh....ok, I love them all. In all seriousness, I love the way your style is heading. It looks like you've been experimenting with textures and fonts, and your work is simply gorgeous.
The font you used for "Ignorance" is so cute! What is it? I really like the orange/yellow theme you've got going on in that Paramore blend. I don't know if I'm a fan of B. Reith's music, but I do know that he's adorable and looks so nice.
And now for another random question. Is the Shadows line from Delta Goodrem's "Almost Here"? Because I definitely recognize it. And that Relient K line is one of my favorites. And that TFK line is from my favorite song on their new cd. And I love how you've made the words in red so striking in your Skillet blend. And now I'll stop rambling.

Oh. My. Gosh. WOW. That's all I can say. W-O-W. *sits in stunned respective silence*
That greyscale Frodo banner, with the Fight Inside lyrics gave me cold chills. I love it. Well, it may be because I'm a sucker for Frodo graphics that either make him look more heroic like he was *supposed* to be, or shows what he was experiencing.... Anyway! I love all your Frodo works. And your PotC works. And... well, at this rate, I'll name everything, so, let's just say... everything!
And I have heard a couple of Skillet songs and am going to see them in concert this month, so your graphics really make me excited to see them!
You're ah-mazzing. WOW again
