I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but anyhoo, what program does everyone use? I have been wanting to get into graphics-making, but I want to know which is the best for the money, since no way am I able to afford Photoshop. So, is PaintShopPro good? any suggestions? any help whatsoever is appreciated!

I use Paint Shop Pro 7, it is definately worth getting if you ask me. I've never used Photoshop so I wouldn't know anything about that but PSP is pretty nice.

I use PSP (Paint Shop Pro) X, and I love it. I've used photoshop in the past, and photoshop is definitely the better and more advanced program, but good old PSP is just right for me. I would also recommend using PSP then advancing on to Photoshop.

I use GIMP- it's free to download offline, and it does quite a bit! I've seen some pretty impressive graphics made with GIMP.

I use Photoshop now, but I started out using Gimp too. It's excellent, does most of the things Photoshop does and it's free. I would definitely recommend it.

I started out with PhotoPlus 6 - a free program. Then moved on to Paint Shop Pro 9. And now I use Photoshop CS2 (my baby lol).
I definitely recommend Photoshop, but like Limwen said, you might want to start on a simpler program first, and move up from there

thanks for your help everybody! I decide to download GIMP first off, so I'll be messing with that for a while. Thanks again!
