Round 1: Liv Tyler I'm really pleased with how this turned out. Although it's always hard to make Liv look any more perfect. ![]() ![]() |

Wow, I love how soft her skin is. ![]() @ Will - Thank ye. Well I use the retouch tool in PSP and set it to smudge, so I basically smooth and smudge all the colours together and then I have to reconstruct them to make it look OK. I just adjust the brightness level on the eyes and lips so they stand out a bit more. ![]() @ FF - Thanks. ![]() Round 2: Cate Blanchett I'm not fond of this one. When cheekbones are really prominent, it's always harder and when there is a lot of shading and shadow.. things just go weird. ![]() |

:swoon: Whoa. Just... whoa. Those are stunning! Both of you are amazing at retouches. And Goatcloset, I honestly think you should do this for a living... that Liv Tyler one you did has me in awe right now. |

JF - PSP = Paint shop Pro? I'm not familiar with that. I use Photoshop CS2, do you know if there's a similar tool for that program? As for the brightness level, what usually happens to me is that the complete photo becomes too bright instead of the parts which you want to show up ![]() I must say the Cate volley is gorgeous, although she looks kinda unnatural without the shadows and wrinkles (kinda like Barbie ![]() ![]() |

@ Will - Hmm... I'm not sure what photoshoppers use for retouching, sorry. Yeah, wrinkles really suit her so she doesn't look quite right without them. ![]() ![]() @ Sunshine - Thank you mon ami. ![]() |

JF: Hm perhaps some kind of blur tool.. I should look into the possibility of downloading PS CS3, I think there'll more enhanced tools than in the version I have. Ah, that makes sense. I should try that. I actually should try to improve my graphic maker skills which are still kinda.. poor. Sunshine: Aaah! I'll be there to [s]drool over[/s] admire them ![]() |

Great volleys guys! ![]() JF - I really love your Liv Tyler retouch! Awesome ![]() Will - I have PS CS2 as well and the tool similar to the one JF is talking about is called the "healing brush" tool (it's right under the crop tool in the toolbar) ![]() ![]() |
