I have a picture I wanted to use for my avatar.

I can't get it to work!

It keeps telling me the size is wrong or something and I don't know what to do to get it to work.

Could you post the image you're trying to use to this thread and maybe we can see what's wrong with it?

It tells me it is too big... so I cut and resized it and it still did not work. That is all I know how to do with it, though.

Have you tried cropping the picture down to just the picture without the grey backing surrounding it?

The image is way too big (you have a 125 x 125 px max limit), and it's missing an image file extension so it may not be recognized as an image anyway. I took the liberty of resizing it for you though, blending the background in a little more and uploading it to an image hosting website.

Please try this and let me know if this works! http://i61.tinypic.com/339r7gl.png

I did try that Boromir...but the most that I know how to do is crop and that did not seem to do the trick.

Thank you Aredhel! It's perfect.

Hi
You have to resize it, it's jusst too big so that's why best size will be 150 x 150 I think. Make sure the size of the image is not bigger then 1MB. If you have any problems let me know so I can do this for you.

Um... I'm afraid Steviener2 doesn't make any sense to me.

If you're having trouble using a picture for your avatar due to size constraints, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Resize the Image: Use an image editing software or online tool to resize the image to meet the size requirements for the avatar. Most platforms have specific dimensions or file size limits for avatars, so ensure that your image fits within these parameters.

Crop the Image: If resizing alone doesn't work, try cropping the image to focus on the most important part or reduce unnecessary elements. This can help reduce the file size and make it easier to fit within the avatar dimensions.

Check File Format: Make sure that the image is saved in a compatible file format for the platform you're using. Common formats for avatars include JPEG, PNG, or GIF. If your image is in a different format, consider converting it to one of these formats.

Upload Directly: Sometimes, problems can occur when uploading an image from an external source or URL. Try saving the image to your device and then uploading it directly from your computer or mobile device.

Clear Cache and Cookies: If you've attempted to upload the image multiple times without success, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes, this can resolve any temporary issues related to image uploads.

Contact Support: If you've tried the above steps and are still unable to upload the image, consider reaching out to customer support for the platform or website where you're trying to set the avatar. They may be able to provide additional guidance or troubleshoot the issue further.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully use your desired picture as your avatar. If you encounter any specific error messages or issues during the process, providing that information can help in offering more targeted solutions.
