I was wondering what all of you banner, avitar, and wallpaper makers use. Like what program, software... thing... like i know someone said Paint Shop Pro... but what are any others? Any that can be downloaded? I want to be able to make all that stuff like... a lot of the banners made have it like shadowed or have glitterness or sparkles, shiney and fading and designs and other stuff that you can't do with ordinary picture programs that are like... paint or ... jasc paint shop pro that is just bad... or Picture It 9 that doesn't do anything for me but animate... and Corel Photo paint which I don't get at all and probably can't do anything either so... any suggestions???

Well I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7 and it works very well for me. It can be bought prety cheaply or trials can be downloaded for free. The sparkly things you mentioned are more than likely brushes or textures, which don't come with programmes but can be found on the internet and saved and used.
i think i have a version of jasc that is less than 7 but i'm not sure... i'll have to play with it more to see if it can do any good... usually all i can do with it that is needed is cropping.

you could look up on google or ask around the forum for some jasc tuturials.
