I know nothing about textures.. are them for photoshop?? where are they? how can i Get'em?? Upss... too many questions... know, know...

Textures are anything that give your graphics "texture". Alot of people just use pictures( I believe Arwen used a wintery pic) and set them on top of their graphics at a low opacity maybe putting erasing here and there. Hope that helped!

She could have used a brush too maybe.

Let's see, textures are...well let me give you an example banner that I can point to:

Image

Okay, in this this banner, the texture is the pink in the background. I used a pink color with a texture called 'fine grain cloud'. As far as finding textures, just google them. There are tons out there to get. fyi, the rose and swirls were done with brushes.

It can be used as SM and Sapphire said, but you can also put it on top of a picture and put it on "Screen".(I learned that from Oro! :p)

Here is an example:

Without texture:

With texture:

To make it look like Arwen's hair in the forum banner, you take a picture and put it semi-transparent over her hair like Sapphire said. :p

(I got the texture here)

Hybrid-Genesis has lots of awesome testures, as does The Magic Box (currently on hiatus, ought to be back up soon).

44 Suburbia has some nice ones too (warning: the layout (and language) isn't really... very... well... :stun: Yeah.)

Wow, people actually make use of my tutorials... weird.

They can also be set to overlay, darken, lighten, multiply... almost anything. Depends on how dark/light your image is.

I hope no one from outside the forum is reading this, some of them stalk me about how I do my graphics... :hide:
