I have photoshop 4 and printshop pro. Can those be used for making banners and avvies?

I'm not sure about printshop pro but photoshop should definetly be able to make banners and avvies. I've never used Photoshop 4 but most of the photoshop versions do generally the same thing. I myself use Photoshop 6.
