You have to have a special program on your computer. Then there should be a button that you press that records the picture. I haven't taken any in a long time, so there's probably more... |

... or if you don't have one; right click>properties>settings>advanced>troubleshoooting>put the slider on None Why has noone yet written a Search tut? |

google mplayerc. its a free media player that takes screens. all you do is pause the movie and go to file>save image as and save the screen you want. |

Believe it or not,for avatars and small icons,you can take a pic with a digital camera held against the movie screen.Then shrink it ,and sharpen,and that small it comes out perfectly clear...

The program I use is actually a DVD player called CyberLink Power DVD. But if you press "C" when the film is playing (or when it's paused), it will capture that image for you, and store it on your computer. It's not a screencapping programme, but the pictures it takes are really good quality. I've capped a lot of things using it.

Lol, I just use the Vista snip tool! Then edit the screenies so they're nice and neat! |

all I do to take a screencap is put the movie in, play it using Windows Media player or something like that, pause it on the screencap I want, hit print screen, open paint, hit paste, crop the picture, and that's it. |
