Post subject:  Layer Masks & Round Borders...?

First off I don't know what layer masks are... I know where the button is but I don't know how to use them.

Also I've heard that they make rounded edges so much easier than doing it manually and that they help with tons of other stuff too... so if someone could tell me how to use them or point me to a tutorial I'd really appreciate it ^_^

I don't know if you still want this, but if you mean a raised border,try....MyImager.com.
If you have GIMP,I could write a tutorial for doing that...but I don't know any other programs..
Hope this helps?

Layer masks are quite similar to erasing the picture... cept that you can un-erase the whole thing back without any problems.

You need a layer with a picture, add a layer mask, then take a black soft brush and (make sure the mask is active/selected, not the layer!) brush around... you'll see the picture disappearing. Take a white brush and the picture's back.

PS elements don't have layer masks, or at least the older versiosn don't (I used v.4 about a year ago)

As for rounded borders...
Layer->New Fill layer->whatever you wanna choose, then pick one of those ever-loveable shape tools (rounded rectangle here) and with black color draw a shape on the layer. And... yeah, that should be it.

I hope I made any sense.. I can also describe this for PSP if anyone needs it
