Post subject:  Transparent background in PSP7?
I've made some avatars for my sig, and rather than taking up sig space with all the different URL's, I've put them together as a banner. But I've added spaces between each avatar and I really would like the banner to have these spaces showing up as transparent on AU. I've never been able to figure this out so if anyone could help me, 'twould be great! :D

Hmmmm...I'm pretty sure to do this, you should open up a new image in Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro, and set it so that there is a transparent background. Then past your avatars onto the image, and when you save it, save it as a .gif and the transparency will stay! :) Or if you save it as .png I think it would work as well ;)

Thanks for that Gil. But I already have my images as a transparent background and I always save as PNG. :-( I tried saving it as GIF and it messed up the images and that didn't work either.

It's Ok. Thanks for trying. :hug: I was hoping to get my sig up tonight, but even having all the seperate URL's won't work as they don't all fit.

I LUUURVES it!!! :drool: I don't particularly like Michael Emerson, but the banner and icons are gorgeous! :D

And what do you mean it only 'sort of' works? It looks fine to me!

Thank you Gil! :-) You can see some dark blue in between each avatar and at the end. It's a little darker than the forum colour as well.

Make sure you check Alpha Channel and Existing Layer Or Image!

Yeah, I used the optimizer but you can still see dark patches round the avatars. It's better than nothing though I suppose. :P

Do you use Internet Explorer? It's because of that, Firefox has it all smoothened out.
(there's some javascript available that fixes the IE problem but it's gone, rawr)

Hmmm...I still don't see the dark patches :confused2: I guess I just have bad eyes or something then! :P
