I've seen on a couple of sites recently, sections for "scans" and I'm just wondering what exactly are they? I mean I'm guessing they are things scanned in (no kidding!) but some sites only have paper and fabric and others have objects and things, like coins and stuff that would be pretty hard I think, to get a picture with a camera. So can scans just be anything you can fit in a scanner, that you might use for graphics? Or should it only be paper? |

Well, I'm no expert in scanners, but I guess you <i>could</i> scan just about any flat-ish thing. It just might not be good for the scanner- coins could scratch the surface, etc. |

Scans really can be anything you can fit in your scanner  Most people just scan things that they think are useful though...for instance, paper and fabric can create really next texture and border effects, but you can use other objects, like coins, as stock
