So, I'm considering photoshop again because I'm hoping to take some digital graphics classes and the school has photoshop. If I'm looking to buy it, to I want to buy one of the CS_ or is elements enough?

Whatever information and suggestions you guys have is appreciated.

Thanks! :bye2:

I’m not extremely graphic or photoshop ect savvy (at least that's not what I'd consider myself ;))… and I'm not sure what you'd need for school and how you'd use it, but I know from personal experience, Damson, that Photoshop Elements is pretty awesome. That’s what I use for my graphics. But that's really all I can say since I haven't worked with anything else... I just know that personally I really like it. :) Sorry I can't be of more help... hopefully someone else will come along who can give you a better opinion. :erm:

Personally, I'm more of a Paint Shop Pro person myself, but I guess PS is pretty cool... I've used it at school for my Digital Desktop Publishing class, and it's got some neat tools that PSP doesn't have.

We've got CS at our school and I think it's worthwhile if you want to buy it, but I know nothing about versions or elements, because I haven't used anything but the basic program. [Our school is a ripoff, considering all of the money they make - they should have money set aside for better graphics programs]...

My mom is getting me a Mac Computer with all of the graphics programs on it, and I think Photoshop is on it, so once I play around with it I'll let you know if I like it or not.

But I digress. I can't really help you in this area, I just felt like commenting more than anything. :teehee:

Having used basically everything (Gimp, Paintshop Pro, PS Elements and PS CS3 and CS4), I highly recommend CS4. I'm using the 30 day trial at the moment and honestly, once you go PS, you can't go back. You'll need to fiddle around a bit to get the hang of it, but its not hard to use if you have expirience with other programs.

I've heard they are fairly close however photoshop can do more I believe..
You can use photoshop tutorials in gimp with only a little adjusting and vice-versa.:)

You know,if you want to try it out without buying it,go to the photoshop website..you can download a 30 day free trial, and then purchase if you like it.:)
