I've never been able to figure that out. I can only screencap with Windows Media Player. |

Screencapping with power DVD? There's a little button shaped like a camera, and that'll screen cap. It's to the right of the volume control - a couple of buttons along from 'menu'. Alternatively, pressing "c" will work just as well. How do you screen-cap with media player? I've never figured that out... I know "print screen" won't work... |

Herenya: I think I have a different version of Power DVD that doesn't include that....I press the C button but I'm not sure where the caps are saved...I've searched everywhere for a folder with captures but I can't find it! *sob* Anyway, I just figured how to screencap with windows media player....right click on your desktop. You'll see a menu. Go to properties>settings>advanced>troubleshoot and then set the hardware acceleration to nothing. Presto! The print screen button will work now! |

Your welcome! I guess I don't need to know how to cap "the right way" with PowerDVD anymore...I'll just have to cap manually. |

Sapphire, it doesn't save the capture anywhere. You then have to go and paste it into your graphics program, or whatever. And thanks for that about media player! I'll go see if it works!

Well, you can configure PowerDVD so it does save caps. Go into the program and click the configuration button (looks like a hammer). Click the Advanced button under the Player Settings tab. Go to the Snapshot tab. Select capture to file and specify the folder in which you want the screencaps saved, and a default name (must end in .BMP). I've found it's best to choose the Custom Size setting with the Keep Aspect Ratio box checked (I use a size of 912x512). Good luck! |

Arwen, thank you SOOO much!!!! It won't let me specify file size, but it will capture to file, and I found something that will "keep the ratio". That will make things so much easier, thank you!
