Ok Photoshop is way complicated compared to PSP...who is with me  ?

I could use someone to just first tell me where the frigin fill tool is LOL and also walk me through making a simple banner...I used PSP for a while and im so used to its way of working, PS is not like it very much.

Let me run through what I usually do in PSP...open my images, then open my blank document at my size i want...then make a rastar layer in color legacy to fill with my color i want and then copy meged and post in a new blank image that is bigger to give me more space to work. Take my images size them properly and paste them as new layers. Then blend them and crop the banner, add text and any effects I migh want. So there is a simple run down on PSP, if PS is the same can someone just show me where all these things are...I looked and nothing is the same...i confused and lost :confused2:

Thanks for the help
<cheers>

[sry for the double post]

Okay, I am going to make this banner:

Image

First, hit [Ctrl+N] (new) and enter the image size (Standard=700x150). Make sure it says "pixels", and not "inches".

Image

You should get a blank canvas. Now open the pictures you want to use in your banner, and then hit [Ctrl+A] (select) and [Ctrl+C] (copy). Then click on the blank canvas and hit [Ctrl+V] (paste). Now I have this:

Image

With the Image button, you can now move your picture around. You can paste your other picture into the canvas and then move that to the appropriate spot. Now I have this:

Image

Now use the eraser tool (Image) and erase part of your picture like this:

Image

You can change the size of your eraser tool by clicking on the drop down arrow at the top.

I use Photoshop CS2 v9.0 by the way...And thanks for the help...I understand that much..however where is that damn fill tool..sorry for the language...I can't find it..LOL

Also how do I add layers or layer effect to my base layer?? Such as this example you gave me...now how would I add another layer to make it all like 1 color? Maybe add a color legacy layer and fill it to be lets just say green for all intensive purposes?

Thats where i get confused with PS cause in PSP I would right click on the layer in the right hand colom and make a new raster layer and change the prpoerty to color legacy then choose the fill tool and pick green , fill the layer and there I have it...a green color over my image.

Thanks<cheers>

The flood fill (paint bucket) tool is 'under' the gradient tool; right click on the gradient tool Image, then click on the paint bucket. If you wanted to make your image green, then the first thing you'd do is make a new layer (Layer>> New>> New layer, or the Image button on the bottom of your layer palatte) on top of all the others. Pick the paint bucket tool, make sure that your foreground color is green, and just click anywhere on the canvas. Then you can play around with the layer opacity and/or blend mode. :)

AH thats where the fill tool is..LOL...they like to hide it huh? Messin with me I guess...also thanks for the info on how to do a new layer...<cheers>

So i take it there is no layer properties that I can pick when I make a new Layer?

Thanks

Don't worry DaBoss! I just got PS CS2 also, after using PSP9 and it took me literally like 2 hrs to figure out where the flippin fill tool was too! LOL :P

Oh! and to change the layer settings (like to make it Color Legacy) you need to go to the Layers pallete (after you created the new layer and selected it on the layers pallete) and there is a little box that when you first make the layer says 'Normal'. If you click the arrow next to it, there are all your options....there isn't a Color Legacy as far as I can see, but there are a lot of other options that are simliar. I hope this helps! :)
