The Gladiator soundtrack. That's all I'm saying.
... no, of course it didn't make me cry in school. Pssssh. Of course not.
except that it happened and I have never been so glad for pitch blackness

Hmm, haven't heard that one yet.. Also haven't watched it yet But I do think that the soundtrack from Harry Potter pt 7.2 is one of the most emotional ones ever, I loved it!

Oh my gosh, I remember having to watch Gladiator for my two-week film studies class in high school (my high school was freaking amazing, we took our exams in May but had school until June and had nontraditional classes during that time, like film studies and history of opera and even stuff like golf was considered a class. Each 'class' lasted two weeks and we had two classes a day for three hours the first two weeks of Project Term and two classes a day for three hours the second two weeks) and everyone loving it except the one girl who blurted out, "I HATE severed heads!"

Hey ladies! for those of you who straighten your hair.... I am looking at buying another flat iron and was wondering if anybody had suggestions/warnings about any flat irons? I have thick wavy hair that hates humidity.

Or if I read about people who are having a hard time. Or if I'm tired. Basically, I cry a lot. But I don't think the fact that you might cry should stop you from explaining to your parents. In fact, it might help them realize your being serious about how the way they treat you hurts. Also, and you're gonna hate me for this, they really are just doing it because they think it's best for you. They want you to have the best life possible. Maybe they can't see that it's not what's best for you, but you have to believe they're doing whatever they're doing because they think it's right. When I was 14, my parents wouldn't let me have a boyfriend. They did this because they wanted to protect me, because they thought saying no was the best choice. Now, my mom says that if she could do it over, knowing what she knows now, she would probably choose differently. It's not easy being 14 and having parents who don't understand you, but keep trying to communicate, and know that it gets better as you get older! Thanks. Yeah, I know they're just trying to help... but they aren't. I feel like they're not even trying. Like, my dad, he just keeps trying to "toughen me up" but it only hurts and he acts like he's always right... even when there's solid evidence that he's not! Harthad wrote: I'm like this, too. I cry a lot, and it's usually if someone makes a snide comment about me or something. There's this one girl in my English class who keeps saying stuff about my answers, or the things I talk about with my other friend who's also her friend, and about the clothes I wear. It's sad because English has always been my favorite subject, and she's sort of ruining it for me. But I like to try and concentrate on what the teacher's saying, or something like that so that I can try and make her comments not get to me. And my parents usually get very worried if I start crying or something, so maybe your parents are just worried and don't know what to say. Does that help, Aerli? I'm 14, too. I'm turning 15 in May, so I might be a bit older, but that makes no difference. We're all human. Or are we? For all you know, I could be a little green alien posting this from a super-high tech computer in another galaxy! Yay! I'm not the only one! I really don't care if people talk about me, just when they act like complete jerks. I'm sorry this girl's ruining it for you! Tell me where she is, and I'll beat her up! My parents know I cry a lot, and don't really care. And if they do, they don't show it. They just tell me I'm being ridiculous. And it might just be me, but they seem to get either really annoyed or really amused. My dad will sometimes smirk when I start to cry! I have no idea why! And it makes me really mad! Anyway, thank you all so much for helping! You're all very sweet! Ari: You're officially joined! Eruceninde: I have no idea. All I do with my hair is wash it and put it back with a clip or hair tie. Sorry! Wish I could help. Last night, when I was working at my dad's store, a dude came up to me and shows me a bottle of wine asking, "This burgundy: is it sweet?" and I just answered, "I have no idea. I'm underage." K, I knew I looked older than I really am, but by SEVEN years?!

@Erucenindë: From what I've heard, GHD flat irons are the best. But I don't have much experience with them, except for when my hairdresser uses it on my hair

It'll get better, Arabella. And it's okay to cry because you miss home. Just think about how lucky you are to have a family to miss. I almost did the crying thing at work today. A guy's car got stuck in the carwash, because I'd given him the wrong kind of wash program (based on what he said about his car, mind you), and I didn't know enough about the carwash to fix it and had to call my boss.

I keep trying to get involved with other activities, but it's difficult and not a lot of them interest me...and I am definitely not a sorority girl! XD So all I do is homework and internet and stuff, so then I have tons of free time to miss home and feel like I'm paying $37,000 a year to sit around and watch Friends. I am seriously thinking of starting a club of my own, a writer's group type thing, but I don't know if it would even be worth it.

Thanks ladies for your help. ^I kinda had something similar, Arabella. When I went to college, I was already married and had a home to take care of. So I didn't get involved in anything (because of lack of time or interest), plus I lived a good 30 minutes away so it made it hard to do extracurricular stuff. I felt like I was left out of alot of things because I couldn't get involved...

By now, my friends have mostly stopped asking me to do things with them. They'll ask my flatmate, or assume I'll turn up if I want to. I know it's partly my fault for being so antisocial last year, but it still makes me sad. This is partly why I want to move next year, because I need a fresh start where me not joining is the exception, not the rule.

*sighs* I finally told Mom that I joined this forum. All this time, she didn't know. I know it's not the best thing to do to keep secrets... but now she knows... so I don't have to keep hiding and acting suspiciously.

Midterms continue for me tomorrow. And I have to write more on my play before Wednesday, because that's my playwriting class. . .it's a WWII drama about a young reporter in a small town, and the mayor who is giving out town resources to the Nazis.

Aw, good luck, Har! I know you'll do well! By the way, I think your banner is hilarious! I've never seen Dr. Who, but I want to, and that quote is just so flippin' funny!
