Yeah, every episode with the Ponds is going to count as a standalone episode. I have a theory about that... ;)

And that theory is....? :)

Okay, bear with me here.

You know how the BBC America promo says "Every story has a beginning, a middle, and an end...but not necessarily in that order."

And you know the heartbreaking looks the Doctor keeps giving the Ponds? (This is really prevalent in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship when Amy says "Or vice versa" and then when they're looking at earth from the TARDIS, look at my avvie for his look of sorrow).

...........

...........I think the Doctor we've seen in Asylum of the Daleks and Dinosaurs on a Spaceship is from a different time stream than Amy and Rory. I think this version of the Doctor has already lost the Ponds, and has gone back to have more adventures with them before it's too late.

^ I've seen other people bring that theory up, and it makes sense. It seems like the kind of shocking plot twist they'd throw at us.

So...what did we think of A Town Called Mercy? I thought it was decent, but I did find more evidence to support my theory. And I don't know whether that's cause for celebration or panic.

I'd like to get on this bandwagon! My friend introduced me to Doctor Who, and it's been love ever since. <3

I liked it. This one and the last one I thought were better than the entirety of the last season, so I'm pleased. :P I liked the more-or-less historical setting, though; there haven't been enough of those. Plus, the steampunky cyborg was great, and even better, he had a super interesting story.

... now, if they cut all the strange foreshadowing about the Ponds, it would be even better. I don't know, even though the Big Huge Storyline hasn't been as obvious and in-your-face so far, I still wish they would tone it down.

I'd say that theory is probably pretty popular, given the episode of Pond Life that goes along with it really well. :) It's at least one I've held since that ep.

I really enjoyed A Town Called Mercy. It had a compelling plot line and good stuff going on mixed with the silly (tea. strong. leave the bag in. ). And I agree, Skitty, I've liked these more than season 6. I think it's just style, though. 6 was crazy and good, but so much was going on. My favorite thing about that season was the story arc of the Doctor - how he falls into this pit of self-loathing and so on. And this season is allowing him his rebirth into seeing himself as a good man again. Which will probably help keep him sane when he loses the Ponds.

Speaking of theories, I have something that I have to run past you guys...

I'm going to attempt to hide this one, because if it's true, then this is an enormous spoiler (highlight it and it should show up)

... What do we think of this theory that Rory is the Master? It would explain why River is half Time Lord, why he never stays dead, and why there was a gold fob watch on the kitchen counter in last night's episode.

I've always dismissed that theory as "too out there", but maybe I'll be proved wrong. You never know. I'm hoping it's not true though.

I really liked the Power of Three. I mean, Amy's ending voice over was a bit cheesy, but the rest was awesome. Kate Stewart! That was so cool. I kind of teared up a little when they referenced the Brigadier, and I've just barely seen things with him. But I can't imagine how longtime fans felt. It's moments like that that make me feel all fuzzy. I also really liked when the Doctor and Amy were sitting outside. It was heartfelt and nice. But I'm going to cry next week. Not for Amy and Rory (I don't think) but for Brian Williams. How he let them go believing that they would be okay, and....*sob*

We definitely got confirmation of the out-of-order episode arc though!

Yup. Definite tears. But, off on the "Town Called Mercy" which I missed until I got all caught up. I loved it. Because the Doctor's rage is genius. Matt Smith doesn't get to show that part of his acting chops much, but when he does. Definitely satisfying.

I think the reason nobody's posting here is that we're still sobbing over the episode.

That being said, I liked how Rory made a reference to how he dies all the time.

So how did everyone like The Angels Take Manhattan?
I actually liked Amy in that episode, which is weird... I usually hate her. :P I'm so glad she's GONE forever now, though! Yay, no more Amy! Rory was great, like usual. :teehee:
I knew the statue of liberty was a weeping angel! lol my friends and I always joked about it being an angel... kind of creepy that they actually made it into a freaky huge weeping angel! O.o
:teehee:

Could I join pwease? I'm kinda new to the fandom, and I haven't seen any of the newer episodes, but I really do love it. (I'm currently on the 9th Doctor) :)

Everyone is welcome here! :D We'll try to be careful with the spoilers, cause it's not fun watching if you know what happens. You'll really enjoy the show though, and if you're anything like me, you'll be caught up in no time ;)

Welcome! We'll make sure to put spoilers in big flashing letters. :teehee: Gosh, I loved Nine. He was such a fabulous doctor. I'd be so much more ready to rewatch all his episodes if it wasn't for Rose....still, I think I need to do a rewatch soon with some fabulous Captain Jack and Nine.

Feanor, I just can not understand how you don't like Amy. :( She was a great companion! But I am so going to miss Rory. It's a little heartwrenching knowing we won't see him again. This is actually the first time I've had to a live transition with companions, since I started watching with the world at season 6. It's a different feeling.
