No I'm not a real adult I'm in my 3rd year of University doing philosophy. So I have another year before I have to do scary adult things like getting a proper job.

i'd rather not think about jobs because i stand almost no chance of doing anything that i really want to do, but i can't seem to stop myself.
i got the thingamabob to say when and where i can vote in our local elections today. this will be my first time and it feels like such a big deal.

I do both! I have a job and am attending the University! Sometimes a bit stressful at times, Seriously I have no time, it's amazing I have enough time to be on here right now, well, I'm actually procrastinating writing a 3 page arabic paper I really should go do that...
Oh! Eowyn, I also am having the fear that if I continue doing what I am studying, I don't know if I'll be able to find a job. One of my biggest fears is to end up working in the Food Service industry forever....

Slickman_G wrote: So, are most of you guys/gals at University, or are you real Adults and have jobs and stuff? "REAL adults"?! XD *falls off chair laughing hysterically at such an absurd though* *tries to catch breath* Wow. TOO funny! Real adult. HA! But I do go to University...currently unemployed...mainly because I was stupid and lined up a job for the summer, and no one wants me if I have to go halfway through May. *sigh* Sidawehiel wrote: Oh! XD
Sida, I'm the same way. Of course, you know my major. I'll either end up living in a cardboard box, or I'll be ruler of the world. XD I REALLY need to find another major to double up on...so I have a HOPE of landing a proper job. Yeah, like doing research psychology is a proper job. Hmmm....but neither is a job at the UN...unless I was a secretary...which...wouldn't be what I wanted.
My idea of a "proper" job would be to run around the world saving it. XD Alas, not much money in that buisness.
*sigh* I think I'll have to go against all my principles and get married. But not just to anyone. Some guy who's FILTHY rich.

interesting that you both think your choice of degree will hinder you. i don't really have that problem - howver snobby people are about english degrees, they do open a lot of doors; and after my english degree i'll train as an english and drama teacher, so then i'll be set with a job for life. the only problem is, i don't really want to teach, or at least not in a school. the ultimate plan is to set up a theatre group for inner-city teenagers (hence training as a drama teacher), but that relies entirely on getting enough funding, finding enough people to help me run it, and there being enough uptake. i'm definitely going to try and do it, but it's a really risky business and it probably won't work out. basically, i don't want the job i'm guaranteed but i do want the job i can't guarantee. what a quandary!

I'm still at school, but I'll finish this summer and then I'll go to university for a few years.
