Oh, I love the All I Ask of You Reprise. Amazing. And just the idea of Don Juan Triumphant is hilarious to me. I suppose all of you know what the novel Don Juan really is?

Ooh, I love it when the Phantom sings the All I Ask Of You reprise. You can tell that he is going from being heartbroken to livid. You can feel and hear the way his voice is shaking with anger and then something just clicks and we get .... you will curse the day you did not do.... all that the Phantom asked of you....

^Exactly. It's so...breathtaking, I think is the word for it. Wow. I love listening to that song over and over and over...

I tend to listen to it a lot as well. I just love that scene in the film as well, it goes from being heart breaking, to a little scary, and a bit unexpected the first time round.

The scene I watch the most is definitely the end scene, from Point of No Return on...
I never really think of watching the All I Ask Of You Reprise, but now I guess I will.

Hehe. I tend to listen an awful lot to the bit of Down Once More when it goes like this.... ... pitiful creature of darknes... what kind of life have you known?... God give me courage to show you... you are not alone.... [music swells]...
That bit just gets me everytime, because of the beautiful music and because I know what is happening in that scene..... [cries]

I love that part of the movie. That's definately one of my favorite scenes. I love the song All I Ask of You too, though- I've seen that seen a lot.

JF: I don't ship Phantom/Christine, but I do ship Phantom/Meg!!! I agree that I don't... personally ship Raoul/Christine, they're one of those ships that---okay, they're cute, but you won't go out of your way to express how good they could be together, y'know?

Yeah, the couples that are together in the movies never really need to be shipped, you know? Like Willabeth and Aragorn/Arwen, Raoul/Christine is kind of redundant to ship. Like, I wanted all of those couples to end up together, but I saw no need to ship for them.

That's actually quite true. You usually end up shipping couples that not many people will have thought of shipping, or couples that should have been together.

Yeah, I agree that when it comes to canon couples, there's not much shippers can do except point the book and/or movie and say: "See? We're right!" Of course if you really love the characters then I'm sure there's plenty of gushing and banner-making to be done just as in any other ship. *shrugs* I'm not much of an avid shipper myself. As I've said before, I tend to bow to the obvious and just go along with that.
Hmm...Meg and Phantom is an interesting concept though. She's just sooo young and he's sooo old. But I can see their personalities sort of working. Personally, I always though Mdme. Giry sort of liked the Phantom.
Anyways...think I'm going to put the movie in now. (Why not? It's summer, I can start movies at 11 if I want to. ) I've been in a very Phantomishly mood lately. I'm so glad I have all the piano music, I've been playing it all like mad.

[cough] Not to contradict the fabulous theory about shipping---I ship... quite a lot of canon pairings.
I... well, I don't want to get into that.
RinielAranel: Well, Christine is also soooo young, and Erik's sooooo old. So... Y'know. C'mon---I think Meg has an amazing personality.
