Well, I'm a ways into The Dragon Reborn now. I like the bits with Egwene/Elayne/Nynaeve best, Egwene has sort of grown on me. I still don't like Mat much, though, and Rand is acting bizarrely Plus I've started seeing the Black Ajah in every single Aes Sedai that's even vaguely mentioned, it's amusing. And thank you, I shall read faster so that you have to withhold fewer spoilers

Egwene is definitely the best female character in the series, but Mat is just as definitely the best character, period.

Lol--Rand did act somewhat bizarrely, but he's still cool. And he only gets cooler.

Well, my youth pastor tells me Mat gets better too, so I guess I'll have to believe the pair of you. Right now I'm really engrossed in all this stuff with the Black Ajah, it's SO interesting. I don't think I'd say Egwene's the best, though, I still like Nynaeve better than her as far as female characters go. And IMO Perrin is currently more interesting than Mat or Rand

We'd both hunt her down and force the awesomeness of Mat and his ashandaeri down her throat. Trust me, you'll end up loving him. I suppose I can kind of see where you're coming from, his main part has been to have the dagger and act rather stupidly. But just wait.


Nat is the best character in ANY series. I fully believe that. He owns all other fictional characters. He even beats out Boba Fett, and that's a hard thing to do.
Gawyn is almost really cool, except for his whole siding against the Salidar people thing and with the whole other group. (This whole staying away from spoilers is HARD. )


I think she really does love Perrin. I just keep expecting her to do something that will ruin everyone else's plans. I don't think she cares what else really happens, as long as Perrin is safe. I don't trust her completely.

Hey, I met Faile today. I laughed when she called herself Mandarb But yeah, I could have seen Faile/Perrin coming a mile away even without reading hints. At least that's fairly clear, unlike the whole mess with Egwene/Galad/Gawyn/Rand/Min/Elayne. And Nynaeve/Lan.

Okay, yes, that was a pretty cool scene. I was just a little sorry that Gawyn got beaten, because I like him, but Mat was admittedly pretty cool there. That's not to say I really like him any better, he still doesn't appeal to me much. I'm really interested in Galad, he's a sort of a weird yet cool character. But I don't think Egwene should like him, cause she does some stuff Galad would decidedly classify as 'wrong' and what with his obsession with doing the right thing...

I bet you're all laughing at me, aren't you, for all my mid-series preferences

No, no! I admit now -even at the end of book 11- that I still think Galad is a pretty cool character. (Not to mention he's like almost too beautiful to look at.... ..kinda nice..) And you can't really blame Egwene for liking him, about 50 bajillion Aes Sedai like him too. And Gawyn is cool, except for one small fault you'll find out about later.

See, we can agree on some things! And if you don't end up loving Mat by the end of Shadow Rising, or at least Fires of Heaven, I'll eat my shoes.

Rand keeps getting weirder and weirder! WHY did he just kill a whole ten or eleven people? He's going insane! I liked him so much in the other two books, what's WRONG with him?!

Yeah... I am on book 11 and I think he has lost much of his ego, which makes him cooler.
As for his beauty... I just keep thinking: he has got to be gay! Only the gay one are that beautiful! (lol )


And as for Gawyn... I had a friend had giant mastiff/spanial (not really sure what it was) dog named Gawyn; so that is what I think of whenever the name is mentioned. A bit humorous, really....
