^ Doesn't matter!
Wow, i didn't know that about Ar Pharazon, how he and his troops were defeated... I always thought they really fought with the Valar and were killed during the fight... But that's a great plot, Aerandir!

Nope, they actually never saw a single person--Eru just pretty much upended a couple mountains over them. Which is really interesting.

I believe it was either in The Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-earth, or possibly in the section about the War of the Ring that's in the back of The Silmarillion.

yeah what you says Aerandir is right and indeed its pretty bad that the Nùmenoreans got captured like that..if Sauron hadnt been taken to Nùmenor and killed when he was weak then it wouldnt have happend nor would it happen if the woman who was really going to be queen at that time then that would not happend cause she would ruled it on another way.
btw...Welcome Turwaithiel Shadeslayer, glad to have you with us.

I think it's great that the Numenoreans got captured (they were rebelling against the Valar, after all). I think it stinks that they captured Sauron, though.

From what book could I read about Numenor? Is the 'Unfinished tales of Numenor & Middle-Earth' the same as the 'Unfinished tales'. what's the 'book of lost tales'? wait, now I'm confused. ok. does the Silmarillion tell about Numenor?

The Silmarillion has a little section on Numenor at the end, called the Akallabeth, the Fall of Numenor.
The main place where you read about Numenor is in The Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-earth, which is the same as The Unfinished Tales.
The Book of Lost Tales (it's in two volumes) is basically the rough draft of The Silmarillion. That's how I see, anyways. It's a lot less refined, and Christopher Tolkien has a commentary at the end of each chapter.

Welcome, Tur!
So... do we have any new topic or are we still discussing our favourite king in Numenor, save Elros?
