I definitely agree with you Nurrantiel about the songs, Disney always has the best songs in their films!
Hmm my favorite characters would be;
Princess Aurora
Merlin
Dopey
Gus and Jaq
Esmeralda
Grandmother Willow
and lots of others

I think my favorite character by far is Pocahontas. It's probably because I grew up watching this when I was little, pretending I was her and learning all of the songs.

Well welcome JF! Quite a long list there.
I went and saw the off-Broadway showing of Lion King Friday!! It was sooooo good. I loved every minute. It was incredible. Half the characters were puppets but you hardly noticed the puppeteers, they were so good. The African chants were amazing and the costumes were amazing and the songs were so good and I just loved it. It's so hard to describe how amazing it was. But it was awesome.
I was rather excited. Make that very excited. To go see the play.

Man.. I wasn't able to go to that when it was in Tampa.
Although.. I do live about an hour and a half away from Disney, so I guess that can make it up.

Ooh, revived! Thanks JF!
You saw Beauty and the Beast? That is like my favorite Disney ever. I really really really would love to see that on Broadway!
Does anyone else agree with me --the older animated Disney were better than today's animated ones --? Because I see previews and stuff today, and I just can't help but compare them to our good stuff. And they always fall short.

It is my favourite Disney film as well.
Hmm... in what way? Animation wise or story wise? Animation wise, I think Disney is still very good. Take a look at Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King. Animation like Hercules and Lilo & Stitch is just different. When Disney make sequels to classic films, like Lady in the Tramp, they use the same style of animation as the prequel, so it looks the same. So the techniques are still there, and there are people who can make "old style" animation, it probably just depends what type of animation fits the story.
As for story, you're right. They are not the best anymore. When Disney decided to stop making 2-D films, John Lasseter, head of Pixar thought it was stupid, saying it was not the quality of animation that was gradually going downhill but the stories. He is now head of the 2-D department, and they are going to be making 2-D films again. They are working on one now called the Princess and the Frog, so they are using the old fairy tales, like they did in the beginning.

Yeah, I was going story-wise. It seemed the majority of "new" movies coming out were really sequels to the older ones, not new ideas. They are definitely going back to fresh ideas again? I am really really glad to hear that. Now we can see Disney come back!

Yes, they are most likely going back to the old style stories. There are plenty of fairy tales that they haven't made yet, and lots of Hans Christian Anderson stories that would work well.

Thats good of them. Im tired of having Disney ruin the old movies by making "Blah Blah Blah 2" Like Cinderella 2 or Pokehauntus 2, or Lion king 11/2 (the second movie was ....alright.)
