As soon as I heard that BG are going to play at Wacken Open Air 2007 I ordered my ticket ^^ is anyone of you going to be there?
I mean.. it can't get much better.. I have autographs of Hansi, Andre and Frederik and pictures of me and the three guys... but I haven't met Marcus!!! (but Marcus is not the reason I'm going to Wacken. It's BG in general... I'm just watching the live DVD ... I so love their live performances )

They're awesome on stage. the whole crowd was going crazy
The video has been recorded at the Blind Guardian Open Air, a festival they organized. 50.000 ppl o.O. They plan to do that again in 2008 after they released the orchestral project about LOTR.. I'm really looking forward to it. Hansi said they'd probably perform with an orchestra on stage
On this tour they worked with projections, which was really, really awesome. It's so very sad you could not see them ... maybe you'll get another chance?

Owh thanks for the introductions... *whsipers* They all have long hair... except the bold guy of course!! But they look really nice and friendly.. I wouldn't mind have a coffee with them and chat about their songs. Then I'd actually tell them that I like A Past And Future Secret.... a lot!! It's a very pretty song... actually I like it better than the other I have heard with them (which on a side note, I didn't like at all *cough*

@Antigone: Are there any chances you could come to Wacken next year?
@Eä: (sorry, banners are not done yet.)
Yeah, they all have long hair, which is cool, I think
And they, indeed, ARE really nice. Especially Hansi has just an extraordinary aura. They do not at all behave like they are one of the most famous metal bands in the world. They are just normal ppl. (well, normal metal heads XD ) And if it comforts you: there are quite a few songs in the "APAFS" style (Some vids are fans' artwork)
you could as well like "Skalds And Shadows",
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpBedoM59Jo
"All The King's Horses" (not released yet, only on the japanese digipac version of the latest album) So most ppl don't have it. ergo: no vids yet.
"The Bard's Song"(don't mind Hansi's haircut. it was an accident XD)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2ErYEwYq34
live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zklqr1xj32Q
"Black Chamber"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIhpUxeaCbU
Harvest Of Sorrow
french: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOEJJzVX6Po
english: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azSD6itEvTs
spanish:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYIve9kK_6E
(there's also an english accoustiv version, a live version, an italian version and a second spanish version)
etc. Hansi also sings in a band called "Demons&Wizards", they have a couple of awesome ballads, too.
e.g.: Wicked Witch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyCTlsabUtg
Fiddler On The Green:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2c38piWVRUU
I don't remember, which songs did I send to you?

Ohh wow, you're so fanatic about BG, I can hardly keep up... ;P
*checks music files*
I think I got The Bard's Song (Hansi'd got sooo bad hair), Another Holy War and Bright Eyes from you (Thank you muchly). Then I got Traveler in Time and Run for the Night... and I'm not liking any of them all that much...
I haven't had the time to check the YouTube links you gave, but I'll do it soon. Thank you!

Weeeell.. Traveller In Time and Run For The Night are older stuff from the late 80ies/early 90ies. They became better with every album Even though I like both songs, if I had to rate all songs they'd be among the last 40.
It's sad you don't like The Bard's Song, because it is THE Blind Guardian Hymn. Every fan knows it by heart. It's played at every concert, just before Mirror Mirror, which usually is last. And it's the one song the audience sings (well, Hansi supports us sometimes and directs us ). It's a magic moment, believe me. Standing in a crowd of 10.000, all singing that song....But I guess just telling you is no use if you don't like it, this won't change because of me telling about concerts
Oh, yeah! His hair!
I'm so glad it's longer again! (used to be much longer, though... )

Well, it's okay with me if his hair isn't overly long... like in waist-long... I find it slightly scary when guys have longer hair than I, lol
I did like the Bard's Song... at least a lot better than the rest of them... but so far the song with the long name...err. Past and Future Secret is my favorite.. and I haven't gone on YouTube yet for the rest....

Okay.
Well, I can't imagine Hansi with waist long hair o.O I think I would fall off my chair laughing! It just doesn't fit him.
Well, take your time with watching the songs. I don't want to force you I'm just obeying Follower Rule One:
"You must be a Blind Guardian fan! This does not only mean to own a few mp3s of their music. Having read "The Lord of the Rings" is not evidence enough, either. There's much more behind their music. You really have to enjoy it from the depth of your heart and you shall use every possibiliy to introduce their music to your metal-friends "

I don't have much to add to this thread at the moment other than men with long hair = shmexi.
The longer the better.
Oh and I'm going to miss Wacken again
So unfair.

Do they really mention LotR in the rule book? Wow... that makes me partly BG fan without knowing... scary.... but technically the rule #1 doesn't apply to me since I'm not a metal-fan
But I appreciate how you are going out of your way to introduce me to their music anyway, I'll have a look at it sometime.. at my own free will!!
Phoenix, do you know any guys with waist long hair?

I know several guys with waist long hair, one of my very best make friends has really gorgeous long, thick curly hair that I'm most envious of.
Maybe it doesn't bother me too much as my hair is waist long too. Nah...who am I kidding? Long hair is just too irrestible to me.
They take such good care of it too, there hair isn't straggly or dirty or anything. It's always in such good condition.

Phoenix! You're still alive!
You won't make it to Wacken? That's sad. I just heard that Dimmu Borgir will play there as well(one of the orgas mentioned it, they're not listed on the official site yet, though), which adds one more band to the "bands-to-watch-list"
@Eä: well, BG and LOTR are more or less the same for me (did I ever mention they released a whole album about The Silmarillion? It's called "Nightfall In Middle-Earth".) And, speaking of it, there is also a song called Lord Of The Rings
*searches for it*
There it is!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMqozfGT9pM
Oh, and you don't need to be a metal fan.... I haven't been, either. my mom hasn't either. and on her 50th birthday (last weekend) she announced to all relatives and guests that from now on she'd be a metaller o.O my MOTHER!
And she said she'd like to she BG live... and then she sang the bard's song with me and I was soooo proud of her
Edit: Guys with long hair rock!
But I still can't imagine Hansi with waist-long hair

I'm alive...barely. But I'm surviving lol.
Sorry I've not been around on the Club much. I honestly haven't had much to contribute to be honest.
Yup, no Wacken next year either. So that's 3 years running I've missed it, most of my friends all go to it as well, so it's doubly depressing to know they're all there and you're stuck at home feeling miserable.
To top it off my fave band Korpiklaani are playing the Bloodstock Open Air next year and I don't think I can make it to that either.
*sigh* I can only hope that they'll do a full UK tour.

Oh, that's sad... good luck then!
Well, I'm Alive is an awesome song, too (see? I can relate EVERYTHING to BG! It's an illness!)
my problem is actually the opposite: I've never been to Wacken, and none of my friends listen to metal, ergo: they won't go
