I'm a fan of F1, and have been ever since I was small. I think I was about 5, and at my grandparents house, and I watched the Monaco grand prix, and have been a fan since. (there can be no doubt that Monaco is the best Race in the calendar.) Though in recent years I've been rather bored witn it, because one team or driver has run away with the championship, and they tend to lead from start to finish. For that reason I am an anti Ferrari man. Mclaren or Williams all the way!!

Woot! The first member! :)
Welcome to the club, Darrell! :)

I've been watching F1 for ten years now and I simply love it. :)
My favourite driver is Kimi Raikkönen, but although I support him, I'm no real Ferrari fan as well.
I became a fan of Kimi when he was at McLaren, and I'm still a fan of the team as well. Lewis Hamilton did a pretty good job in the last race. Perhaps I'll be a fan of him as well. :)

I love F1 as well. I am a fan of Alonso. But I do love Michael Schumacher too bad he had left racing but good thing is that every team has an equal chance to win the title now.

What do you think about the rew order that all teams have to use the same tyres now?

Author:  Darrell [ March 31st, 2007, 5:14 pm ]

I think the new tyre rule is silly. It's just another rule to confuse things. Why can't they just let the teams race without imposing ridiculous rules.

And one of the 'rookies' this season comes from the town I go to school in. And Hamilton comes from the same county :D

Glad that you accepted me to your club as a member Rose of Rivendell.

Well that rule started to be applied by the teams last year and I think the races became even more exciting than they were.

I have no idea who are the newbies?

Lucky you! :)
Ralf Schumacher, Nick Heidfeld and Nico Rosberg come from my country. At least they were born here, as I guess most of them are living somewhere in Monaco right now. ;)

No problem. :) New members are always good. :)

Well, I think the "big" teams don't have that many newbies. Okay, for McLaren there's Lewis Hamilton, but I think the others have just changed the drivers. For the smaller teams, I've got no idea yet...I usually get to know the names after a few races first....

Concerning the tyre rule discussion: I think that this rule is unnecessary, as they argue that Ferrari has currently advantages anyways, as they've worked together with Bridgestone for so many years. And I think you can't make all cars totally comparable. And a fiasco like they had in Indianapolis when all Michelin drivers couldn't participate in the racing because of tyre problems can't really be avoided in this way as well.

How did you like the last race by the way? Did it turn out as you've guessed before, or was there something surprising?

*sorry for the double post  *

How did you like the last race in Malaysia? Was the result suprising for you or did you guess before that it would turn out this way?

Well, F1 is pretty famous car racing series in Europe. It's a bit similar to the American Nascar Series...

I was gripped to that race. :D

I usually just watch the highlights lately, but it was good stuff, Hamilton did fantastic! Well done to him for placing second, and Alonso for placing first.

Yep, I completely agree with you. The race was really fantastic. :) I was really surprised by Hamilton. He did a really good job.
Do you think he will have chances against Alonso or will McLaren tell him to be the "second man"?

I dont think he'll be told to be the 'second man', If he has a chance I think he will be allowed to go for it, its just that Im not sure wether he'll be able to sustain a championship challenge against Alonso, despite the maturity he is already showing as a driver. Only time will tell :)

^I completely agree with you concerning the Hamilton question. I think he's really talented and the best new driver F1 has seen for a few years now (the way he overtook the two Ferraris at the start in Malaysia was great :)), but I'm really interested if he can keep up this good performance for a longer time. Well, today in the second free training he was second best again after Kimi... :) So there's hope for him.

And Hamilton did a really good job during the race on Sunday. I mean he's leading the championship together with Alonso and Kimi now! And he's still a rookie. I guess he must be the must successful guy for the last few years. :)
And he said in an interview that he wants to become the youngest champion, so he's willing to compete with Alonso.
