Same here. I never really felt comfortable around guys, and most of the people in my grade at school, I've grown up with. Now that I finally do feel a bit more comfortable around guys, they still see me as the shy (sorta), quiet, boy-hating Devon that I have always been. I'm not sure why, but people at my school tend to form opinions very quickly. :( Curse of going to a private school with a bunch of rich, spoiled kids. Sad thing is, it's a Christian school! People should be sweeter there than anywhere else, reality is, it's worse than most public schools. The cliques and "social standard" I mean. Very snooty girls and guys who think they are... all that? I don't know.
Guess it's kinda like Hermione, how they never thought she had a date to the Yule Ball, and then she actually did. No one ever thought I liked guys, but I actually do. I make the strangest connections...:P

woah, that was a lot longer than I intended it to be... but your sig says to "post with substance". How's that ^ for substance?

Definitely alot of substance! :D

Well, I'm glad I'm not at your school that's for sure. The scary thing is, I might actually fit in. Eep!

Hermione = Blue dress

Not PINK!

*is glad she doesn't go to a private school*

That sounds dreadful hermione

Well, most of my friends are girls, but those close friends have close guy friends so then I make friends with them.

Well, it's not so bad as long as I have my little group of friends that has the same opinion as me. Example, Pirateoftherings, one of my bestest friends! we share the same opinion on that. (the whole, stuck up people issue) I guess the rest of the grades aren't so bad, but mine is a particularly bad class. all the teachers know us.... and fear us. mwuahahaha! lol

About that dress, I know! That drove me crazy throughout the entire yule ball part! It clearly says that it was a light blue dress, not bright pink! and the dress wasn't that pretty, either.

I don't like that it's frilly.

It just doesn't work for me.

I don't think frilly is for Hermione.

No. Draping, or something like that, maybe, but frilly just looks tacky.

Of course, I never really quite pictured Hermione's dress to be...except to be blue of course but I didn't picture the design that much.

Well I'm a very visual person, I visualize everything, esp. when I'm reading.

So what did you picture her dress to be?

I didn't visualize it that well either, but in the books they didn't actually wear dresses. It was dress robes. The movie mugglefied it.

Well, wizards and witches are always wearing their wizard/witch robes right? So dress robes are just fancy robes, I would imagine.

Odd...

But then, when Dan was talking in the interview on the PoA DVD, he said his reaction to reading about the dress robes were "We're wearing DRESSES?!".

True, I guess dress robes are just more fancy, and I always pictured hermione's as.,..well I don't know. They certainly don't look like Hogwarts robes!
