I'LL JOIN! I love Jane Austen and her books! Have read Pride & Prejudice (my favorite), Sense & Sensibility, Emma, and Sanditon & Other Stories, which included some of the stuff she wrote when she was young, which is very funny indeed :)

(Oh, and 2000th post!)

I'd like to join as well! Even if I've only read Pride and Prejudice [blushes].

I want to read Sense and Sensibility, is it similar to Pride and Prejudice?

Well, sorta - most of Jane's books focus on courtship and marriage :p There's no Lizzie-character though who you immediately love - the two main girls, imo, are both a bit lacking in likability. It's still the same kind of conflicted romance, intrigue, sly villains, and all that, though. Good read! :)

So the movie is good? As good as Pride and Prejudice? I've seen bits of Sense and Sensibility, mainly because of Alan Rickman. ^^

^ I heard about that movie last year while I was reading AustenBlog (which is a great JA site) for P&P movie news! Like most of the visitors on that site, I was a little skeptical about the movie, because so...little is known about her life. Most of the movie is going to be "artistic license" :p It might still be good, though...who knows?

I thought the S&S movie was pretty good. It's just that the story itself isn't as good as P&P. Almost everything you expect to happen, does happen. And Snape as Colonel Brandon has never worked for me, but that's just my opinion :p It's still a good movie, though. Oh, and all the actors are rather too old - both wot's-her-name...Emma Thompson...and Kate Winslet were great, but not believable as 19 and 16.

What? Not Anne Hathaway, ahe can't do a brittish accent for anything...that's like making a movie about John Cadburys and making viggo mortenson doing John.

BTW: Órelindë i've added you to the list

Anne Hathaway.... That's going to flop.

If you can't do a British accent, don't try.

Can I join?

I loved the newest Pride and Prejudice movie, I've started reading the book. The English is tough though.

I just loved Alan Rickman as Colonel Brandon.. He was really sweet!
But were Kate and Emma supposed to be 16 and 19? I had thought them to be 21 and 24 or something..(from the movie)

Anne Hathaway? Shouldn't they use someone who's well, English?
