Welcome, one and all, to the Switchfoot/Jon Foreman club!
[edited: 11/2011]

Switchfoot has had, to date, 6 7 wonderful albums out.
(if you haven't heard the early stuff pre-The Beautiful Letdown, i highly recommend it.)

Jon Foreman (lead singer/guitarist) has released 4 solo EPs this year and last.
(titled Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer)
He also has a side project called Fiction Family.

Anyways, why do you like them? favorite album/songs? how do you feel about their changes in style over the years? feelings on jf's solo work? discuss it all here, and MUCH MUCH MORE!!

I'm totally in!!

My likeness for SF all began with the great movie A Walk to Remember. I got the soundtrack and then I heard Dare You To Move. That song pretty much made me have a soft spot for them, even though I'd barely heard anything from them. Then I got curious and got their CD Nothing is Sound, where I found the awesomeness that is Stars and We Are One Tonight. Then I got a few more songs from them like This Is Your Life and Meant to Live, which are arguably their best songs ever. But then I heard that my favroite band Relient K was touring here with SF, and I couldn't pass up the chance to see both together. When I went, I was mainly looking forward to RK, but MAN.......they are AMAZING live!! I was not expecting the brilliant performance they gave! And at the time I only had one of their CDs....so after the mind-blowing concert I bought Oh! Gravity and Beautiful Letdown. And they are very excellent. This has all happened within a matter of a few months. So here I am, and I now have to get their earlier stuff.....

oh, i definitely know about them live! i was already a ginormous fan when i saw them earlier this year, plus it was at a smaller venue, so i was thrilled at not only getting to see them, but being able to see them up close! they were touring with The Myriad and Athlete, turning me on to both bands.
even better was when Jon Foreman performed one of the acoustic songs from his "Spring" EP. make sure you check out his EPs. they will crush you with awesomeness--but crush you gently, because they're acoustic. :P

my favorite from the early stuff is the album New Way to be Human. it's got some nuggets such as the original version of "Only Hope" and a few other favorites like "Sooner or Later" "Let That Be Enough" and "Amy's Song."

This club makes me happy.
For me, I started listening to switchfoot a lot in 03 and 04 but by the time Nothing Is Sound came out [2005] Switchfoot was all I ever listened too, at all, everyday, for years. Now I listen too a few other bands but not many. Jon Foreman is my hero and I forced my dad to drive me 7 hours too see them proform live in Frankfurt. Let me tell you it was far beyond worth it.
Thanks for making this, it's purly amazing.

i LOVE your sig set. TWLOHA is awesome. when i saw switchfoot in concert, jamie spoke beforehand. he signed my purple TWLOHA shirt :-D

they are teh awesome. i have to say, with all of their albums, my favorite songs are "Daisy," "Let That Be Enough," "Stars" and some of jon's solo stuff.

they've started their own record label, and, as far as i know, are currently in the studio working on new stuff. i can't wait.

Thanks! I love it too.

I'd have too say after a lot of debate that my favorite song is Your Love Is Strong. A lot of amazing ones follow.

Ah, my favourite song is "Dare You To Move," from The Beautiful Letdown, but I also really, really, really love "Yesterdays," from Oh! Gravity. Both songs are amazing. As are most of Switchfoot's songs (and Jon's). :D

Hey have you heard The String Quartet Tribute to Switchfoot? It's so awesome! I just bought it for myself yesterday.

Honestly, they have so many great songs that it's really hard to choose a favorite. However, for some reason I'm really into Incomplete right now--it's just so infectious!

and I'm seriously considering joining Friends of the Foot, exclusive ticket presales and meet and greets sound really tempting!

I've not been listening actively to Switchfoot for very long, though I've known about them for years. For a while I refused to listen to them (long story, rather not go into it). But then, as I got more and more involved with TWLOHA and heard more and more about Jon Foreman through that... well, I fell in love with the song "Dare You to Move" (which I'd heard years earlier but it really fit my life at the time) and everything took off from there. They're one of my very favorite bands now. Jon Foreman is incredible - I respect and admire him.

My favorite song is probably "Dare You to Move," but I also really like "Stars" and "Awakening" and "Meant to Live..." and lots of other ones. :teehee:

I haven't seen them live yet; I had a chance to but had to give it up (once again, I'd rather not go into it). I would love to see them live.
