I could write a small novel about Thranduil--he's amazing, okay?  You know the big battle in the prologue of FotR? His dad died in that battle. And he's very entitled to dislike dwarves because of events in the Silmarillion, which I won't summarize now, but basically the dwarves kill elves and it's unpleasant. So Thranduil deserves some respect.  _________________

Okay, okay, I admit, I haven't read the Sil, but if it sounds like I would understand Thranduil after reading the Sil, then I will do that and think about my choice of disliking Legolas' dad.
