I don't actually think Charles Darwin said anything like there's no god. Perhaps I'm mistaken (which is very likely), but during that time in Europe and especially Britian, saying that would be suicide. Okay, maybe not that dramatic. I don't think he was an atheist or anything, he just made a HUGE scientific discovery that changed the course of the world. I think people assume that he believed there was no god because of his evolutionary theory. I mean, until then, people thought god just kind of put them there....but his discovery at the Galapagos Islands changed everything...And I don't think he actually proved it...it was just a theory, with lots of evidence to back it up...it hadn't been proven until recently. But he's the father of evoltionary theory.

And Lady, let's try not to bash anyone who likes Darwin, like me. He's a freakin' genius!!!

ANYways....let's get back to Skandar...though technically, we are. ;) Ha ha ha.

So, I've been watching my Narnia DVD and it's HYSTERICAL!!! Oh man...I started listening to the commentary earlier today...and wow...nearly fell out of my chair from laughing so hard. "May the gods of Klingon be with you!" YAY!!! Star Trek!! LIVE LONG AND PROSER. ;)

Yeah guys, let's cut the Darwin talk. It's ok to chat about him, but getting technical about how accurate his theory is, is leading into a debate. ;)

The commentary is awesome!! The actor's one of course. ;) The producer/director/etc. commentaries are never as cool.

"Look at that coat, you cannot deny that looks cool!"

Oh my god, I know! That was so funny! Besides the fact that he said that, I would have rather wanted that huge furry coat than the skimpy other ones. Ha ha ha. "It made me look like a gangster." Or something like that...

Okay...so I have a question and it's not exactly about Skandar. It's about Edmund. (close enough ;) ) I was reading the book and thinking to myself what exactly possessed Edmund to be seduced by the White Witch...(not the candy or whatever)...but I mean, what was it that the family did to make him do that? I was just wondering, because it's been on my mind and I just couldn't think of a word to describe it.

A good question, MB!

*Thinks*

Well, if you look at it from the movie perspective, it was a lot of things.
1. He was missing his father, and Jadis seemed to be possessing a parental figure.
2. The candy, of course, put a desire in him to just have more.
3. He was mad at Peter and didn't want to obey him.

Now from the book perspective it's a bit less obvious. But in my thoughts from reading these books, it's just that Edmund Pevensie is decieved. It could have been tried on any of his siblings, but Edmund just wasn't a good kid when he was young (meaning selfish, teasing) that it was easier for him to cave in.

And you know, what Lewis was getting at overall, is that evil decieves. It doesn't come at you in all it's evil, dark glory, but finds what will sway you. Jadis seemed like a nice person, and she found Edmund's weak points to draw him in.
And really, this happens to all of us.

Argh, I hope that helped you somewhat. Sorry I got so detailed...probably wasn't called for with Skandar. :P

Another thing about the commentary...
Remember when Andrew goes, "I think William was insecure because of his haircut." And then Will starts talking about how awful it was, and then they start talking about Skandar's and Skandar says, "No, it was cool. I pulled it off."

Yeah, thanks...I just couldn't place it...you know, find the word. Ha ha ha. Stupid school sucking all my brain cells.

So, Skandar basically rocked the commentary.

Did any of you see the easter egg thing about the turkish delight? Man...I felt so bad for him..."3 gallons"!!! Yikes...

[cries] Wah! I want to listen to the commentaries!

[whine whine whine whine whine]

I take donations! [hold up sign]

Anyways, here's a page on livejournal that I found with little Narnia animations of the bloopers and such. They're mainly of Skandar.

Awww...I'm sorry Kit!!!! *hugs* If I had the ability and know how to make clips for you all...I would. However, I sort of lack in that department. :P Of course, I don't know about the commentaries...that'd be odd...

Thanks for the link...it's awesome! Yay for Skandar!

I love the little animation where I think William tries to catch something that was being thrown and Skandar gets hit by it and William's like "OMG! SORRY!! Look what you producers did?!"
