Mark Twain once said, "Whenever I feel the urge to excersize, I lie down until it goes away." I used to have a shirt with that quote on it... but it got lost somewhere... But I hate excersizing and I'm not a sport person!

I tend using dancing/choregraphy as a form of exercise and it works, too. And it's alot more enjoyable as well.

I'm a yoga person, generally, but I'm not the biggest fan of exercise either.

I took dance last year, and in my Technique class we had to do all sorts of yoga/Pilates things for helping with dance movements and things. . .

^ Crutchie, I was confused for a few moments I remembered your banner, but didn't remember the name, until I saw you just changed your name Anyhow, on the sports topic: I used to have sport, but I found a martial art about five years ago and I'm still training. I guess it also has to do with the good feeling in the group, everyone is very nice and the atmosphere is quite relaxed, although we do have some serious workouts. Only thing is that we're a bit low on the female numbers, normally two or three women against 20-25 men. But we manage . I think the atmosphere while working out is definitely important, I would never be able to go to the gym or something, I would run away screaming..

So, I'm done with my midterms! I did really well except for Spanish, where I did. . .okay. But I got a better grade than most people in the class, so that's okay. But we have this thing called a 'Junior Portfolio' now, where we have to fit our tests/projects/stuff into different rubrics and see how well we do according to those. Thankfully, they don't count for our grade now, but when we get to our Junior year, we have to present the tests/projects/stuff to a panel of judges. And that's going to count for part of our grade. I think it's sort of silly because we're supposed to hold onto all these things until we get to be Juniors. But we already have a ton of stuff as it is!

My school did something similar, actually, but just for our English classes. We put everything in this huge binder and by senior year it was really fun to look back and see the silly things I'd written when I was younger and how drastically my writing had improved. Unfortunately, I accidentally left my portfolio in my locker on the last day of class senior year, and forgot to go back and get it, and it got thrown away. I really wish I still had it.

You want the truth about braces? Okay. ...They do kind of suck. But it's not the end of the world and they're not as bad as everyone claims and they really are worth it. I had braces twice. Once when I was twelve and in seventh grade, just on my top 4 teeth and only for just over a year. The second time was in high school, from December 2009 to September 2011. How long you have to wear them depends on how bad your teeth are and how well you follow the rules. Some of the rules include, but are not limited to: No gum, apples, popcorn, and make sure to wear your rubber bands if you need them! before you get them, you'll go to get some molds of your mouth made with this stuff kind of like cement for your mouth. That's pretty bad if you have a bad gag reflex, but it's over in a moment. Then about a week later you get the braces themselves. This process of putting them on takes about an hour. The brackets are glued on and the wire is threaded through. Your mouth will be sore for a while as you get used to them, so stock up on soft foods like mac and cheese and mashed potatoes! It'll get better when you're more adjusted to having them in your mouth. Unfortunately, this pain process starts up again every few months when you go to get them tightened, which just means they give you a new wire. But again, the pain goes away in a few days. Brushing and flossing is SO important with braces! It takes more time but it's so worth it. And I cannot stress this enough, but if you have to wear rubber bands with them to fix an overbite, WEAR THEM! I couldn't wear mine nearly as much as I should have because during the first few months of braces I had to have jaw surgery, so although my teeth are straight my bite isn't perfect still. I don't mind, but the rubber bands really are important if you need them. Any other questions you have? I'm a bit of an expert on the topic.

An important thing about the rubber bands is to wear them ALWAYS. I would wear them only when I was going to see the orthodontist (because they gave me really bad headaches and I'm lazy) and in the end he told me to either wear them all the time or not wear them at all. I chose not to wear them, but I do recommend the opposite. Also, they will hurt to begin with, but if you do wear them all the time, they'll stop hurting. Mine only hurt because I wore them so irregularly.

Oh wow. That sounds bad. They said I'll need them for 2 years. >< Do they affect the way you talk? DO they make your mouth bleed????
I'm kinda scared because I'm in a speech and debate ground where I hafta enunciate my words... so yeah.
Thanks so much, Ari and Ana!

I'm pretty sure that if they do affect how you talk at all, it'll be so little that you'll be the only one who notices. They might scratch the side of your mouth a little, but it's not bad. They're just a bit annoying really. But you get used to them. They hurt when you've just had them tightened, but if you do it properly (and wear your rubber bands) that should be about it. And your teeth get SO MUCH BETTER. Seriously, it's worth it when you take them off.
