I love RP'ing, 'tis great fun. And there are some many different types, not just genre of RP.

I disagree there. It is no good if every post is only two sentences long, but sometimes it is necessary to have short post in order to be able to put dialogue into the 'story'. Otherwise it is impossible to have your characters have a 'natural' conversation. You need to combine both long and short posts to get a decent depth to the story, both with description, and with dialogue. That is my only problem with the RP'ing on the forum, the two aren't combined very well. But it is all good fun.

welcome, Turwaithiel!
I usually find that my opening posts are longest. I agree with you there, Darrell, some posts need to be short. but for me, reading a long RPG post gets me motivated to write a good one myself.
so what RPGs have you people recently joined?

I start lots of RP sites, though they never seem to do well. My newest one is Pirates of the Caribbean themed. I'm part of many different sites though. I'm not part of any on AU at the moment.

I usually go in the Non-LotR section, though I recently started an informal one based on Nazgul.

I agree with Darrell on lengths- Some posts work better when they're short to give others a chance to have dialogue, and to interact with each other, but other posts are good when they're longer.
I'm not in any active LotR RPs right now, I am in a few non-LotR ones. This forum is where I first started RPing, and it's the only place I Rp right now. *huggles forum* lol

Me join!
Regarding the one-sentence posts thing, I find it quite difficult to do posts longer than a couple of paragraphs unless the last post was directed at my character. You just don't have enough to go off of. Plus, like someone said (I'm too lazy to go look) it does make dialogue easier.
Yay for us RPers! I'm a nerd and I spend all day refreshing the Caras Galadhon page and hoping that someone has posted
