Very hard.

I think I'l have to go with Theoden, he just seems one of the best written and most human(or elf or dwarf, whatever the race is) character.
Its not that I love his personality more then others, just how well he was written.

My favorite BOOK character is deffinantly Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth. Whenever they mention him, it felt like my heart lept and wanted to read more about him. I just wish he had a big enough part so that they'd put him in the movie. He was just so honorable and brave, riding alongside Aragorn at one part. And he's the one who figured out Eowyn was still alive after she had had her fight with the Witchking! So, yeah, Imrahil was my favorite Lord of the Rings book character.

Yes, yes he does! Watch the end of the first part of Fellowship, and you'll see him smile. That's TWICE, and as far as I'm concerned, that's perfectly normal. :-D Look at Frodo. Poor thing doesn't smile much either. :/

I also like Boromir and Aragorn and Eowyn a lot. But none of them come close to Faramir in my mind! Not because they're any less cool or because they're inferior in any way. Because they're not. I just kind of have an incredibly huge fangirl crush on Faramir... Hehh... :blush:

Well, Aragorn is my favorite, then Sam, Gimli and Legolas, In the Book.
In the movie, It's Aragorn, Gamling, Sam, Gimli.

I like Frodo the best :) and he was my favorite before I even saw the movies, so it was like a plus that he was also adorable. :P
I think I liked him best because he was so normal... not like you would expect for someone to be carrying out such a huge task. he was completely unfit for it, but he was chosen, so he did it. that might be what I liked about his character.

I love Samwise Gamgee ;-) Both in movies and in books. His heroic and selfless behaviour is very touching. And he is nice Hobbit overall ^^

Second ones are Elrond (who is my favorite elf) and Merry (this book one, I don't like movie Merry).

I believe Arwen's big part in the books was in the Appendices.

Éowyn is definitely my favourite. Both in the books and movies. I think Miranda Otto did an amazing job.
And then Faramir and Éomer.. but they are kind of connected to Éowyn too xD

I could go on all day, but I doubt ya'll would appreciate that. :speech:
Totally my favorite. I also like Boromir, Theoden, Eowyn, Eomer, Beragond, all the Hobbits, and Glorfindel.
Oh! And can't forget Treebeard and Quickbeam! The Ents all the wayyyyyyy!!!!

Aragorn is my number one, he's a wonderfully written character, with different sides to him. Then its Faramir, Merry, Pippin, and Sam. oh, and Legolas and Gimli of course. Its so hard to choose favorite characters! and Eomer is awesome too! see what i mean? way to hard!
