I find myself thinking about Haldir a lot. His role in the movies doesn't match the books, but even though I knew that, I thought the films were wise in using him as what I saw as a kind of amalgum character. In the LotR books I liked that Haldir seems to be simply a "working elf," esteeming duty and law above other considerations, performing services and tasks more noble-titled elves might not do. Also, Lothlorien, of which Haldir is Guardian, is a bit isolated from the other Elvish Realms, and to me represented the ancient times and ways. (Linaea offers thanks and credit to Ansereg dot com for filling in her blanks for this reply, and for the lovely descriptions and summarizations of Haldir and Lothlorien.) |

Arwen, Aragorn, Sam, and Pippin... mabey Frodo... but then i like Legolas too... and Eowyn... and Faramir... oh, i can't choose! |

sam because he is so brave ect ect.. frodo because he has a great character gollum because he is so complex and spooky. i love the way he has a double personality |

In the books, my favorite characters are Eowyn, Sam, and gollum. If I had to choose, it would definitely be Eowyn because she's such a strong female character. In the movies, it's Merry. No contest. I have a ridiculous crush on Merry in the movies. |

My all time favourite characters are Gimli andFrodo + Sam. Gimli...it's hard to not like him. He is funny, has many prejudices and always got a pun. Frodo at the other hand, with Sam, are silent heroes of the books, two ringbearers (because Sam also held the Ring) on the path to death. I loved reading about their journey, much more than other chapters of the books. |

Mine are definitely Aragorn, Arwen, Legolas and Faramir. Oh and I like Gimli and Elrond too. |

My favorite is Samwise Gamgee. He is brave and loyal friend, something I want to achieve in real life. He also gave me courage in difficult time of my life year ago. I think I can relate to Sam. I also like Aragorn and Frodo. |
