I felt like...sad and happy. Sad for Samwise of 'losing' Frodo, but happy for Frodo that he could live the rest of his live in bliss, without pain or torture.

When I got to the end I tried to make Sam's quote "Well I'm back" last as long as the whole book over again because I did not want it to be over. Well, it didn't work. (lol) I finished the "back" part of Sam's quote and my first thought was "Well, its all over." I sat there for a moment and then remembered the appendiciesand got all excited again, and then started reading them. So to bottle that all up into one emotion I would call it supprise/dissappointment/excitment /sadness. What can I say! I loved the book! I was supprised because I was not done, remembering that I still had the appendicies, dissappointed because I was done with that part of the book, excited because I had finished the best book ever readable, and sad because Sam was. (lol)

I cried. It was the first book to make me do that and The Order of the Phoenix is the only book I've cried over since. However, the next day I read the appendixes about how full and happy their lives were and I was happy for them.

That's when Gondor isbeing attacked and Denethor loses his mind. I loved the ending...it made me smile.

I cried my eyes out. Really, there's no book or film that made me that sad. I cried also at the end of the film and got strange looks from my friend, but I couldn't help it. It was really touching. On one side it's sad, on the other side you feel happy for Frodo. *gets confused about too much emotion and cries again*

Yea I cried at the end. It was just so sad, I mean I was happy for Frodo going off to Valinor but I was upset that he had to leave poor Samwise and the rest of his friends behind and say farewell to them forever. I was also grieved that after 3 years of waiting LotR was over and there would be no more after this movie. I also just love the line "Well I'm back". I think the only word I can use to describe the ending was that it was bittersweet. Aye bittersweet that's exactly what it was.

I myself, echo those sentiments. I found myself thinking of so much more I would like to have learned. Of Arwen and Aragorn's life together. Of the King returning to the northern Kingdom.
Can you picture Aragorn returning to the Prancing Pony, or visiting Bag End. Maybe learnng about the undying lands and Frodo, and Gandalfs lives there. So much to see and hear about.

I am wanting more each day.
