I believe "canon" means...*thinks of how to explain it* sticking to what's in the story, I guess. For example, after HP and the Half-blood Prince came out, people knew that the Ron/Hermione pairing was officially canon, and Harry/Hermione was not.

Aragorn/Arwen is canon....Legolas/Eowyn is not.

Padme/Anakin is canon...Padme/Obi-wan is not.

Peter Pevensie/whoever is not canon.

Elizabeth/Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth/Will Turner could both be considered canon...at the moment...because we don't know who she'll wind up with.

Etc. etc. Basically canon is whatever is explicitly IN the story, not all the inferred "Oh, so-and-so DEFINITELY looks at so-and-so like she's in love with him so they're a couple."

I go on Thanksgiving Day weekend free, just free and I read a short fic by a friend of Andromache's point of view during the Trojan War and my shipping frenzy of Hector/Andromache comes surging back to me and I can't get it out of my head. I'm depressed about the way the couple ends both in the Iliad and in the film, but I prefer the film ending because the Iliad's just depressing and it's -not- fair.

[deep breaths]

What's worse is not -that- many people ship Hector/Andromache full-out so there's only a number of fanfics out there, only a handful are good and absolutely no fanart. I -need- fanart. And I've brought it upon myself to draw the fanart but that's a bit difficult because I <b>don't have time</b> in the world and all the fanart ideas are swarming in my head and knocking the sides of my skull and it hurts!

AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!! [stomps and pouts]
