The difference between Glashutte Original's link approach and practically every other watch brand out there is that GO uses a pair of concentric date discs that are set co-axially on the same level. See that slim, curved line that separates the two digits in the date in the image above? Notice that there's basically link zero separation between link the digits. The two discs do not overlap and are made up of a smaller inner disc featuring four digits (0-3) and a larger surrounding disc with 10 numerals (0-9).
