Well, the highest recorded weight as per Wiki was 173 tonnes (apparently equivalent to the metric ton of 1000 kilograms or 2200 imperial pounds; the other weight given is 190 short tons, this being the 2000 imperial pounds). Estimates exceed 181 tonnes or 200 short tons. The 125 tonnes you mention may be appropriate for the slightly smaller (though perhaps more aggressive) Fin Whale.
They were talking about the average weight of a Blue whale cow. The Blue whale bulls regularly weigh over 200 tons.

Fun Fact: A Blue whale calf is the largest newborn of any species in the history of our planet.

Numerous episodes of my "guilty pleasure" - Ink Master. The egos are hilarious, and the critiques merciless ..... great entertainment.

English Wiki and German Wiki have some non-trivial disagreements about the blue whale. Average heart weight 400 lbs (E) vs. 600 to 1000 kg (G) makes a factor of five! E says the average female is slightly longer but slightly lighter than the male, G says the females are generally 6% “larger”. But occasions for measurement are most likely on the scanty side … :wary:

Several episodes of our southwest regional (public) TV channel about old tractors yesterday (now the northern regional channel is at it with other episodes).

Wikipedia is a great reference, but it is important to remember it's nature - crowd sourced. It is inevitable that there will be variations in factual information as a result. So, in this sense, it's not really a very reliable source of information. Dependant on which sources the Wiki contributors used, and sources used in the doco, we're likely to see variations.

As to what is correct? Well, that's where a literature review of robust, recent primary sources (not secondary or tertiary sources) would come into play.

The New Year’s Eve Guinness Book of World Records certified classic 18-minute sketch (with an English actor and actress, and entirely in English, recorded in 1963 and since 1972 the utterly peerless “must see” on New Year’s Eve, broadcast on all regional TV channels as well as national channel 1 several times before and after midnight), “Dinner for One.”  :roflmao:

Twice. First time just before midnight, the second a bit after. :p
