The Mad Hatter was awesome, creepy in a desperate way, but still awesome. Since they went with an Alice in Wonderland theme this week, which like Ari mentioned isn't a Grimm fairytale, I wonder if Aladdin will show up somewhere down the line. I noticed that Mr Gold had a lamp in the back of his store in one episode, and it looked to me like it could be an Aladdin like lamp. They've had some unique twists so far, like with Red's story, so why not throw in a magic carpet and a genie?...another genie, actually.

I actually thought the Mad Hatter would be more insane. It seemed to me that Emma and Mary-Margret got out of that house pretty quick.

I like how the Mad Hatter's insanity was portrayed. It was a great twist to make him insane because he knew about the curse. And the back story with his daughter was so, so, so sweet. (Incidentally, I really liked the queen as an old woman. OH! HEY! I literally just realized that's in the Snow White story. I hope we'll get to see her again. ) By the way, it think they kind of made allowances for the fact that Alice in Wonderland isn't a Grimm story, like when Emma said, "The Mad Hatter's from a book, a book I actually read!" I definitely won't be surprised if we see Aladdin the future.

I also enjoyed the fact that Wonderland was its own separate place, and how he described all the different worlds. That way it's more than "We're just sticking a well known fantasy-ish character in!" and explains why he's there in a pretty logical way. I thought this episode was brilliant. It definitely brought the show back up, in my opinion.

SPOILERS
SERIOUSLY, I MEAN MAJOR SPOILERS
TURN BACK NOW
OR DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU
...What the heck just happened?! The ending?! It has been confirmed that it was Kathryn's heart in that box, and now she's alive and well?! How are they going to explain this?
And did anyone else feel like the big reveal about what Snow did was really...anticlimactic? I just feel like it could have been better than what it ended up being. It certainly explains why Regina is the way she is, but I was expecting Regina to kill her mother in retaliation. Maybe she does later, I dunno.

SPOILERS Holy heck!!! The crazy theory I came up with while talkin to a friend actually came true! I was like 'wouldn't it be crazy if they actually found Katheryn alive? then they would have a living supposed-to-be-dead person, and the heart of the supposed-to-be-dead person!!' So I had to duct tape my jaw back on when I saw the ending! And yeah, I thought the Snow/Regina thing would have been somethin a little more...I dont know, just a little different. I do feel bad for Regina now though. I'm just glad that question has finally been answered!

SPOILERY SPOILERY SPOILERS I feel like I'm the only person in the fandom who didn't think Kathryn was actually dead. My roommate and I were watching tonight's episode and I was like, "And now, Kathryn shows up!" and she just kept saying she couldn't because she was dead. Silly. No body, no death, and even with the body there's still hope. Still, this has got to kill Regina and Gold's deal, so it'll be interesting how that plays out. And FINALLY Emma knows about Sidney! Whooo! August continuing to be awesome. With more screentime and helpful advice and I REALLY WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOU OKAY? I had a general idea what Snow would do to make Regina mad, but seriously woman. Your MOTHER is the one who ripped out his heart right in front of you. As you were not-so-subtly running away. I don't think the impressionable 8 year old really did that much. Perspective? Quote: It has been confirmed that it was Kathryn's heart in that box, and now she's alive and well?! How are they going to explain this? Graham was alive and well, but his heart was locked up. People apparently don't need hearts in Storybrooke. Unless you mean how are they going to explain that at the trial, in which case I'm right there with you in anticipation.

YE SPOILERS AHOY Yay Kathryn's alive!! I am stunned and happy. I had entirely given her up. I agree, it's going to be impossible to explain at the trial! "Whaaa...? She's alive, but we have her heart?! It's almost like we're living in some sort of made-up, magical existence!" I guess I can understand why Regina hates Snow. I imagine the betrayal probably hurts as much or more as what her mother did. (And my guess at some point she'll also get revenge on her mother.) It is quite vindictive, but we always knew Regina was a rather vindictive woman.

This probably belongs in the international Q&A thread, but why ARE British shows produced with such a small number of episodes? Upstairs Downstairs had six, Sherlock has three per season and I get the feeling that Doctor Who and Downton Abbey are unique in having 12 to 13 episodes per series/season.
(Actually, 22-episode seasons can be really annoying because they all get taken off the air in February/March for about a month to build suspense and then hit the ground running again in April and May for what's called the "sweeps" until they end for the summer in about mid-May. XD We have to wait 3 weeks for the next OUAT episode!)
Spoilers: So...I can't be the only one shipping Emma/The Stranger, right?

I wonder, if they do an x-ray on Katheryn, will she show up heart-less? And what the heck will Regina and Mr. Gold do about this??

I don't know why, but I'd more so say Downton Abbey (8 per season - Upstairs Downstairs has the 13) and Sherlock are the exception. From what I can tell, most of their shows are usually 13 episodes in the series. Back to the original conversation....I love August, and I think he and Emma have good chemistry, but I don't know if I ship them. Not currently, but I'm not opposed too much either.

XD We have to wait 3 weeks for the next OUAT episode!) It's got something to do with I think the amount of money shows cost and the amount of people in the UK who'll watch them I think. Generally, if it's something like Doctor Who, they can make more in a series because with the money they're going to make from selling abroad and the merchandise, it's worth it. Downton Abbey with 7 and then 8 episodes was unusual, especially as with the first series no one had any idea it would prove so popular. But then again, the BBC had had a few good period dramas on Sunday's for a number of years (Cranford 6 episodes in one series and Lark Rise to Candleford was always 10 per season), so I gues ITV wanted something that could rvival the BBC. Yet, Upstairs Downstairs for the two series combined was only 9 episodes. Sherlock is on a par with Foyle's war that had between 2-4 episodes per series. In 7 series worth, there were only 22 episodes!! Basically, unless it's a soap, in the UK if a series has more than 5 episodes, you're very lucky. Worst is when you have a series like Midsomer Murders, 6 of them are ready to go, but they make them last the entire year. Haha, yeah. When the US shows get their break, we in the UK have to have them to!
Anyway, carry on folks. Sorry to crash your thread. But I'll be back when I've watched OUAT.

I cant wait to see how they explain finding Kathryn's heart, but finding her alive too! Thats gotta be interesting! And I'm freaking out about the next episode. I dont want August to kill Rumple, he's my favorite character!

^ I still really like the idea of him being one of the Brothers Grimm. I thought we already met Rumple's son, all grown up? My theory (without having seen any of the teasers for the next episode ) is that Rumple is a double agent. It seems to me that he and Regina are mortal enemies, and he's going to find some sort of loophole in the agreement they made to stab her in the back. And I don't know if its relevant (maybe not, since Kathryn has ended up alive!), but I was re-watching "The Stable Boy" and I realized that that little exchange between Regina and Snow, where Regina says "Oh, I know you didn't kill Kathryn, but you deserve this" was caught on Sydney's bug. If Emma realizes its there, she has some concrete proof that Regina had something to do with Kathryn's disappearance.

I hadn't thought of that, with the bug in the flowers! That would be fantastic if Emma could get her hands on that recording!
