Is anybody else a fan of the Canadian TV films from the 1980's? I basically grew up on the films and have been a life-long fan of the story. I own all of them on VHS as well as the first film on DVD, I definitely plan on getting the other ones on DVD!

I love Anne of Green Gables! I grew up on them as well... We just have them recorded off of tv, but I want to get the DVDs because the quality on our tapes is really bad... I love the Anne of Avonlea movies (parts 3 and 4) especially. I borrowed "The Continuing Story" from a friend, and I thought it was lame. It was made like 10 years later, and while it had a lot of the same cast, they were significantly older and just... stiff.

I haven't seen the Continuing Story yet. Only the ones made before that. There are deleted scenes on the first DVD, it's really cool.

I also own the sheet music for the score theme played in the film

Ever since I saw the films for the first time (it must be... some 12 years ago now) I've wanted to go to Prince Edward's Island!

I watched them when I was a kid and I remember enjoying them but I don't really remember much from the movies. My aunt and uncle got me an Anne of Green Gables doll when I was young...it's pretty rad.

I can usually quote entire scenes from the Anne movies, haha. When I was a kid I used to walk around in the forest reciting the Lady of Shalott just because Anne did so

Anne of Green Gables is great! I love the tv movies (well, at least the originals - they're the only ones I've seen, and I'll take Belle's word for it that the sequel's bad) and I've read all of the books up to and including Anne's House of Dreams The original book/movie is the best, though!

I love this movie! I always cry when I watch it, even at the not sad moments. I identify with Anne a lot. I think we are kindred spirits!

OO! I remember they had a marathon on the local station, it was wonderful! I love Anne of Green Gables! I wish they would show them again! I loved the costumes! Hehe!

I'm a huge fan of the books- I've read all of them multiple times- but I didn't really like the movie much; I've only seen the first one and it was okay, but the other two are a bit messed up from what I've heard of them- ah, why are they in New York? Hello? It's supposed to be the House of Dreams and Ingleside and Jem and the twins and Walter and Shirley and Rilla and the Merediths! So I don't like the movies much.

I agree, I love the costumes. My favorite dress would be the lovely white one Anne wears when she's reciting "The Highwayman", I always wanted that dress when I was younger

My sister and I love the movies and the books...I really like Anne, Gilbert, Marilla, and Matthew.
